It had been a week since the incident. Penelope had had two surgeries. The bullet scrapped against her lung. Luckily the damage was minimal. She was trying to sleep. It was about 9pm. The doctors said she was probably good to start walking so she shifted to the side and planted her feet on floor. The second she put pressure on them she could feel the pain. She grunted through clenched teeth and made her way to the bathroom. Josie was on the couch beside the bed. She was dead asleep.

Once in the bathroom, Penelope's hands gripped the granite table top. She looked at herself in the mirror. She looked tired. There were bags under her eyes. She hadn't been sleeping at the hospital. She didn't like hospitals. She sighed and looked down. People die at hospitals. People she loved died at a hospital. She lost everything at a hospital. There were tears building up in her eyes. She looked down and sighed.

"Penelope?" The door was opened. Josie stared at the older witches with a frown.

"I wanna go home Jo. I wanna go home." She still didn't look up at Josie.

Josie took a few steps forward and grabbed Penelope's arms and let her sink into her chest. Penelope wasn't crying now. She was just upset. She had every right to be upset at a hospital.

"I know. You will."

Josie knew that Penelope had lost her parents. Josie checked out her file after there first encounter. It was bad car accident. Both of her parents used their magic to protect Penelope, costing them there lives. Both went to surgery immediately. Neither of them came back.

It was Saturday. Doctors said that Penelope could leave on Monday to which she was excited. She was sitting in the hospital bed. A book in her hands. Then all of the sudden Josie bursted through the door, a smile on her face. She had a deck of cards in her hand.

"Oh no not again!" Penelope pleaded. They had played cards almost every day the past week.

Josie frowned. "But Egyptian Rat Screw is my favorite."

Penelope chuckled and ushered for Josie to climb on the bed. Josie giggled with excitement and started to separate the deck of cards. They played the game for about 30 minutes. Penelope won almost every game. That was expected.

"UGHHHH! Penelope Park why are you so good at everything you do!" Josie said frustrated.

"Sorry I'm just so exceptional." She said sarcasm present in her voice. She separated the cards once again.

"You kissed me." Josie whispered out of no where. Penelope put down her cards.

"You wouldn't shut the hell up."

"That's the only reason you did it?"

Penelope frowned.

"Josie Saltzman I bet there isn't a single person on earth who wouldn't want to kiss you." She chuckled.

Josie looked down.

"Pen I'm being serious."

"So am I."

Josie stared at her doubtfully. This is all Penelope needed to see before she made a move.

She leaned in and grabbed Josie's hips and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Josie responded by putting her arms around Penelope's neck. Within a moment, Penelope pulled away.

"Does that answer your question?" She smirked.

It was finally Monday. Alaric, Lizzie, Josie, and Penelope stood in the hospital room. Alaric has a bag packed.

"Are you ready to go?" He said with a small grin.

"Yes!" Responded penelope. Lizzie and Josie chuckled.

They were on there way back to the dorms. Penelope was in the back of the car with Josie. Of course Josie had fallen asleep. Thats all she ever does. Josies head laid on Penelope's shoulder.

Once at the dorms, everyone helped Penelope settle back into her room. Soon after settling in, Lizzie and Alaric left. Josie lingered. It was very late and Penelope was already laying in her.

"Goodnight Penelope." Josie softly spoke. She turned and started to leave.

"Wait." Josie turned her head.

"Yes?" She questioned.

"Come lay with me?" She whispered. Josie smiled and made her way to the bed. Penelope moved over for Josie to slip in. They laid there in silence just looking into each other eyes. Penelope put her fingers through Josie's hair. Josie sighed in response.

"I wasn't nervous when I first came here. That is until I met you." Penelope half whispered.

"Why"

"I don't know. Something about you made me worried that I could mess everything up."

"Wowwww!" Josie scoffed. "So romantic!"

"It actually is if you think about it! You make me want to be a better person."

"Likewise Penelope. Likewise."
