~Asher~
"Hey, Ash, you wanna take the kids to the park? I'm gonna clean the house and you know how the twins are. They make a mess faster than you can clean it up," Mom says chuckling while opening the door to my bedroom.
"Yeah, sure, let me get dressed first though," I say taking off my headphones and setting them on the bed.
"Okay, awesome thank you," She says before closing the door and walking down the hallway.
I get off of my bed and stretch, hearing two pops in my lower back, I smile a little from the relief and go over to my closet to find something to wear. I end up just picking out some high-wasted jean shorts and a black tank top with a red plaid shirt left open and white vans. I pull my hair up into a ponytail and walk out the door, my phone, book, and headphones in a bag I'm bringing with me.
"Hey kiddos you ready to go to the park?" I ask when I get into the living room, I walk up beside Harry who's putting on his shoes while sitting on the dark brown coffee table and ruffle his light blonde hair.
"Yeah!" They all scream at me in unison.
"Okay, make sure to get jackets though, it's still chilly outside," I tell them all, laughing.
Kaden and Kyla nod before running upstairs to do what I assume is grab jackets. Harper just sits on the couch swinging her little legs back and forth. I go over and sit beside her and she climbs on me to sit on my lap.
"We go to the park now?" She asks tilting her head to the side and looking at my face.
"Yeah, as soon as you grab a jacket we can leave," I say tickling her and she giggles trying to push my hands away. She nods and slides off my lap after I stop tickling her then follows where the other twins already went upstairs. I get up and walk into the room we call the "school room" because it has all the books and the laptops the kids use for their schooling.
I find Emmet, Quiana, and Elizabeth in there all playing on their separate laptops but playing the same game from what I can tell. I stand there, leaning in the doorway but none of them notice me, too entranced with their games to tell there was an entire other human being in the room with them.
'They need to work on their observation skills' I think shaking my head smiling to myself.
I clear my throat and all three of them shoot their heads up to look at my face.
"Any of you wanna go to the park with me and the twins?"
"I will," Elizabeth says, closing her laptop and standing up.
"Me too," Quiana agrees.
"I'm gonna stay here, I'm trying to get a trophy on my game," Emmet says, turning back to his game. Me and the girls look at him before nodding and leaving the room. When we get back into the living room, the twins are all in there trying but failing to zip up their jackets. Elizabeth walks over to Kyla to help her and Quiana goes to Harper to zip hers up. The two boys come to me and I zip up Harry's before helping Kaden with his.
"Ella can you go ask Levi if he wants to come with us please?"
She nods and runs upstairs.
"Okay, everyone get in my car!" I tell the rest of the kids that are down there. I herd them all out the door and open the back door to my white 1991 Isuzu Rodeo. It's not the best car but it gets me around. Not to mention I paid 400$ dollars I made working on a farm one summer to get it fixed.
They all clamber in, squished into the back seat before I shut the door and open the drivers door and get in, putting the bag I had in between the two front seats.
"Asher, Kaden is squishing my haaand," Kyla whines and I sigh and look back to see Kaden grinning mischievously while sitting directly on Kyla's hand.
"Kaden, please get off of her hand," He frowns before crossing is small arms and lifts one side of his butt letting Kyla snatch her hand away, glaring at him while rubbing it.
I just laugh and look over to where Harry is giggling at a funny face Harper is doing. I smile and go to start the car. But me being me, forgot the car keys. I turn back to look at Quiana who is looking out the window, too busy daydreaming to notice anything around her. I get her attention and tell her I forgot the keys and to watch the twins so they don't mess with anything, she nods and I get out of the car and walk up to the house. Just as I'm about to open the door, Ella comes out, stopping just before running into me.
"Levi, said he didn't wanna come, something about an achievement on the ps4," she says rolling her eyes, I laugh and shake my head, side-stepping her and go into the house. Mom is on the couch watching tv and folding laundry when I walk in. She looks up to me, and asks if anything was wrong. I shake my head, saying I forgot my keys and she nods while smiling, then looks back at the tv.
I walk back into my room and go over to my dresser looking for my keys.
'Hm, I could have sworn I left them right here' I think, lifting up a shirt to look under it. Just then I notice a glint of something on the floor below my bed and go over to look at it. Low and behold, my keys are right there, directly in the middle of my bed on the floor. I grab them, eyebrows furrowed confused as to how they got there.
'Huh, I guess one of the kids got into my room or something' I shake my head before standing up and walking out of the room, when I turn around to shut my door I could have sworn I saw a flash of gross, stringy looking blonde hair darting behind my bed. Frightened, I shove it away in my mind and try to forget about it. Still shaking when I get back into my car, Ella notices and asks what's wrong, I just shake my head and start the car.
"Asher, does Racheal have to come with us? I don't like her," Kyla asks in a small voice and I look back and see a worried look on her face.
"Ky, you're Racheal, okay? There's nobody else," I say, although, with the thought of that weird flash of hair in my bedroom not 2 minutes ago, I'm not to sure of that anymore.
