"Keşke" she wrote...

Sanem's novel became a bestseller, and was turned into a play... It was the opening night..

Can was back in town, and gave into the desire to see the play... He still had deep feelings for Sanem, and he wanted to be there for her, but not be seen due to their past. Since he was still a famous photographer and did not want any gossip and did not want to take away the spotlight from Sanem, he realized it was best to see the play while unnoticed. He went up to the loggia booth to sit in the darkness and all memories came flooding back in the flashbacks...

Meanwhile, Sanem decided to see the play, but in secret. Yes, she was famous, but did not want to be seen at the opening night, because the play was very personal to her because it was influenced by her feelings toward Can... She wanted to remain unseen because even though she was famous, she was still as much a romantic as she was shy about her work, and wanted to see from a hidden place how people reacted to her writing...

When the lights went down Sanem sneaked into the loggia booth and sat next to Can, not seeing his face... They were alone again... Together but still all alone... So close yet worlds apart. Her hair was shorter, and he looked a bit different too, a bit rugged, a bit leaner, all because of his sadness due to losing Sanem.. The moment came in the play where the two lovers destined to be together looked up at the stars and spoke of Orion... She whispered to herself how beautiful and moving this part had turned out, but Can hear her in the darkness... He turned his head and was completely floored that it was Sanem.. His Sanem...

His gaze moved slowly as he closed his eyes... Can took a deep breath and the ever familiar scent floated all the way to his senses, to his heart. It was her wildflower scent. Their scent... He dared himself to look down at her hands... His heart skipped a beat with the realization that she was still wearing HIS ring...

The play ended, and Sanem lingered after the lights turned on again, wiping away the tear that fell from her eye, releasing the relief from being unsure whether the play would portray her love for Can the way she had hoped for, mixed with the pain of no longer being able to hold him so close to her heart.. She did not want to be seen leaving the opera... Not in the fragile state she was in...

Deciding it was best to gather her coat while still unseen, she turned to her side... And the world stopped. The heartbeat she felt in her heart rang a single beat through her soul... She was looking at Can. Right next to her, face to face, shoulder to shoulder...
