Can sat in his car and grinned. Confidence that was once lost, now surged through his veins with the all too familiar rythm. He grinned and felt unstoppable. He felt invincible. To think that not long ago he was afraid to even look in the mirror, because all he saw was that Sanem was not part of the reflection looking back at him...

He sat in the car outside of Sanem's house, not far
from Istanbul. He was no longer afraid to go in, no longer afraid of reaching out. Asking Sanem to take him back was not a sign of weakness. It was a sign of growing up, realizing he had been too foolish and too stubborn to prevent her from leaving his side. Had she not saved him more than once? The year that has gone by forced him to re-evaluate each moment they shared. And once the ache in his heart was gone, once despair and the feeling of loneliness had passed, he confronted all that Sanem meant to him. He realized how much she had to have gone through to fight for him. What felt right at the time, when he chose to let her go because she gave the scent to Fabri, now felt like the biggest mistake of his life. She saved him, saved the agency, yet he was too blind to see it. From the moment she stepped foot in the agency, she became the heart of it. Her spirit and childlike faith in the best in people affected everyone. And he had to admit that it was his actions that caused her to leave. He was too afraid to tell her to stay, too afraid to tell her he loved her...

He stood at the doorway, and looked back. The city lights and the starry sky gleemed back at him. His grin widened the moment he saw Orion shining strongly above him, as if with approval. He nodded to himself. He would no longer look back. Only the future lay before him. Before them. And knowing that, it gave him more confidence than he felt before.

Sanem opened the door with their child in her arms. Not long ago he would have backed down, backed away. Yet now he felt that this was a sign that THIS was where he belonged. Sanem smiled at him. She wore the same vibrant yellow colored clothes he remembered her in. Yellow was definitely her color, he thought. Red made her look vibrant, but yellow matched her soul. Forever shining like the light that she was to him.

Sanem welcomed him in, and he could sense she felt comfortable with him. And that was a good sign. He decided he would stay a longer while, walking with her through her home. She made it comfortable and all Sanem. He felt he could settle here... She seemed a bit too conscious of the fact that almost every room had a mention of an albatross.. Be it a photograph of Galapagos with albatrosses gleeming above the wateredge in the living room, be it the brass statue of two birds flying together in perfect harmony in the hallway, or the single tile of an albatross right above the kitchen stove. He saw it everywhere.

He paused as he passed by the nursery. Light blue hues danced around the room. And the fact that he saw the same albatross theme here as well, grasped his heart. A little bird plush toy here, bird themed curtains in the windows, and a blue origami butterfly mobile wind charm above the crib. She had made it herself, he thought. He wanted to say something to her about that, but he suddenly felt tongue-tied when his eyes wandered to the changing table beside the crib. Creams made by Sanem were lined all in one row. Each with a single letter. C.

She looked at him. Burning cheeks adorned her beautiful face. So she loves him. She loved him still, loved him more than he had undersood until now. And he knew she would be his again before the evening was done...
