Prologue

Y/N's P.O.V

"your leaving?" I asked surprised. "yeah, I kind of have to." he replied. "when?" I asked. "I have to leave in a week" he said. "ok, I guess" I said, looking down at my pale hands. "I'll come back Y/N, don't worry about me." he said, knowing exactly how I felt. although my facial expression seemed calm, inside I was more worried than ever. my childhood friend who I spent almost all my life with, was goin]
g into space for the first time, some people never come back. no one knows where they go or anything, they're just.. gone. "your one of my only friends, don't die" I told in in a scolding matter. he laughed at my worry for him and rubbed my brown hair. "I won't, you don't have to worry butterfly." he told me. "are you sure?" I asked. "y-yep, I promise. " he said.

"will Y/N L/N please come to hallway 3 please" an announcement stated. "guess they need me. cya." I said. "meet me at the usual spot whenever you come back." Keith said waving goodbye. "ok, see you there" I said waving back before running to hall 3. when I got there I saw a lady in a scientist outfit, a general, and an engineer standing before me. "whatever I did to need a general. scientist and engineer to call me, I'm sorry for doing it." I said. they all laughed as the scientist said "you didn't do anything wrong. we just have something you need to do." I nodded and came closer.

"two months from now we are going to test out a hyper sleep pod that will be sent out into space. you have been chosen to be the one inside of the pod." said the engineer. "what?! " I shouted. I've never been in space before! I can't do this! I've barely been managing to get good grades in my classes! what makes them think I could even do this!? "you won't be controlling it, we will, you just have to make sure you don't press anything in your sleep to interfere with the connection to you." the general stated. "but-"I tried saying. "you don't have a choice." snapped the general. "you can be the first ever person from earth in hyper sleep in all of history. don't you want that tittle?" the scientist asked. I obediently nodded though, I actually don't. "good. that's all that was needed. you can't tell anyone about this however, understood?" said the engineer. "yes" I obediently said and walked off.

Keith's P.O.V

I waited at the same stall of the café for Y/N. we would always sit next to the wall behind the serving exit. you could always smell whatever they were making which always ended making us both hungry. "can I get you anything sir?" asked the waitress. "no, I'm waiting for someone." I stated. she nodded and left. as soon as she left Y/N walked into the café. They smiled as they saw me and sat down in front of me. "sup Keen" they joked. "heya butterfly. so what did they need you for?" I replied, leaning in out of curiosity. Their beautiful smile then faded from their face as they began to speak. "I can't tell you. sorry, they told me I can't." They stated disappointed. "hey, cheer up some, at least you made it out." I tried cheering them up. "yeah" they said a little less disappointed.

we both talked about whatever came up, from school to our childhood memories we shared. I always loved these moments the most because it would remind me of how much I had a crush on them and how much I loved them. if only they knew how lovestruck I was for them. when I found out that I had to leave I was so worried that when I would leave they'd fall in love someone else.  "Welp I better get going, or my mom is going to NOT having a bonding moment with me" they joked I laughed as she stood up. "I better get going too. cya." I said standing up too. "wait, where are you going to be sent off? I want to meet you there." Y/N asked. "at the lab, its just across the school." I said walking off

*time skip to next week*

Y/N P.O.V:

I stood in front of the lab as Keith ran out to see me. "Y/N! your here! he excitingly said. he ran up and hugged my small figure. "of course I would be here! your my Best friend!" I said laughing. he put me down with a smile on my face. "who's this?" asked a tan skinned boy. Keith introduced everyone to me and introduced me to them. "ok, well. we have to leave soon." he said. that's when I noticed that they weren't wearing what was usually what they were sent off in, instead it looked like it was some kind of new technology they were sent with. Keith's was in a white outfit with red shoulder pads and a V which was in the center. "new outfits?" I asked. "y-yeah." he said.

"well, we're all going inside. we'll give you two 5 minutes, time runs out, we're leaving without you." said big boy, now known as hunk. they all left inside leaving just me and Keith. " so this is it." I said frowning. "yeah. I guess I'll see you when I get back." he nervously said. "just please make it back ok. got it?" I said. he laughed again and rubbed my brown haired head. "I'll be fine." he said. he walked away to his group leaving just me.

white smoke filled the air preventing me from seeing the ship they blast off in. when all the smoke disappeared, they were gone from sight. "please...just be ok..." I whispered then began walking back to the school. I was pulled back by one of the scientists. "just remember, your being sent off in just a month now." she said sternly. "that's going to be your last moment." she added, sending a chill down my back. she let go and I ran to the school immediately.

I closed the door to my dorm room and leaned on it. "this is going to a long month without you." I said.

*the Night before your sending off into space, specifically 11:59*

Your P.O.V

I slept soundly in my bed when all of a sudden there was a knock on my dorm door. "ugh...5 more minutes dunk head." I tiredly said with my face in my pillow. "what did you just call me Mr/Ms. L/N?" the general snapped from behind the door. my head popped up and I quickly scrambled out of bed and opened the door. the general quickly grabbed my wrist and pulled me to the lab.

when we got there I was put I was pushed into the pod. "whats going on?" I ask. no answer. two people ran up to the pod I was in and strapped me in and put on the mask then closed it behind them and ran back. "Let me out! Its not time yet!" I shouted through the mask. no one answered me when all of a sudden I heard the countdown starting making me start to panic. "wait! what's even going on?!" I shouted. "ten, nine, eight, seven, six" the robotic clock voice began to start. "Let me out!" I tried saying, hoping for a response though it never was answered. "five, four, three, two, one" it finished.

the pod launched into the air and into the sky and shooting into space. I squirmed around panickily. when they said that it would be tomorrow, I didn't think they meant right as it turned midnight! the pod stopped in space to show millions of stars glittering around me. "amazing." I gasped, being knocked out of my panic state. "we are turning on the gas." they said. the gas spurt up the tube and into the gas mask. my multicolored eyes slowly lowered as I tried holding back a yawn. soon I gave into my tiredness and went to sleep, unknowing I my finger had pressed a button in my sleep distrupting the connection and leaving me asleep and drifting off into space.
