In His Embrace

Prologue

It had been a hectic and most chaotic 28 years. 28 years of pure hell on Earth for all humans since demon king Sebastian Knightley took reign upon the Earth and control over all of humanity. He'd had enough of all supernatural beings hiding their existence from humankind. Demons, ghouls, werewolves, witches, vampires, warlocks. All supernatural beings had come forth, and soon humanity was enslaved. Life was never the same after that day.

Humans now had jobs that were either assigned to them or had been requested and approved of. Schools taught students about the different races of supernatural being that now walked among them. They were taught truths about each supernatural being and their culture. Demons especially. Vampires aren't sensitive to sunlight in any way. They aren't bothered by crosses or garlic either. Werewolves could shift at will, without the need of the full moon. The more magical beings, such as witches and warlocks, didn't necessarily need wands or staffs, though they could amplify their power.

The subject of mates is a big deal. Not all are born with a predestined mate, however werewolves and even demons have mates. The wolves more so. They believe that their deity, the Moon Goddess, blesses each and every one of them from the time they are birthed with a mate. Humans were not aware that demons could have such a bond with someone else. They can, however. Not all demons are lucky enough to find their other half. Some say that demons, since they are such impure beings, cannot have a mate. That they do not have a predestined one whom they will share a life together. However, this is not so. There are those who have simply taken a random mate in someone whom has caught their interest. Demons are complicated creatures. They do as they please without a second thought, take what they want, whenever they want.

One such demon is rumored to never have any such luck in ever having a mate.

That particular demon? None other than the demon king himself, Sebastian Knightley.
