The second part of Ana's Backstory, but can stand alone. I split it into three parts instead of two. Otherwise, this would be super long. Part Three already is long by itself.
Please ignore anything that seems inaccurate as I'm not an expert. This is a work of fiction and therefore we can pretend it's accurate.

~Part Two of Ana's Backstory~
The wind blew fiercely outside the fauns' home. There was a storm coming. A female faun was pattering around inside, finishing up dinner. Her husband moved about the small dwelling to ensure they were prepared for the bad weather. Both were busy with their own tasks but couldn't have felt happier for the day before they had received news that brought them such joy.
They were a relatively young couple—for fauns anyway—and had been waiting for younglings for a while. However, they hadn't had any luck and had gone to see a specialist. It was then that they received the news that they would not be able to have children of their own. They had been crushed by the news. Reza was unable to hold back tears as they headed home. Shedoth was stoic, trying to be strong for his wife, though he too was greatly disheartened.
They passed a centaur with barely a word, too distraught to pay much attention to others around them. But he noticed the couple and stopped them in their tracks.
"Why do you cry?" a centaur asked, noting the couple's sorrow.
The male glanced at his wife before turning to speak to the centaur over his shoulder. "We've just received some unfortunate news." Although Shedoth couldn't explain why, he felt compelled to tell the centaur more. "We had wished for children, but it seems it is not meant to be for us."
"Then weep no more. Your wish will come true." Both quickly turned to face the centaur.
"But how?" Reza spoke this time. Centaurs were known to be wise prophets so she assumed he knew something they did not.
"I know not the how, only that it will happen. Aslan has spoken. You will be parents one day soon."
The female faun had gasped and held tightly to her husband. Could it be? Had Aslan heard their prayers and finally answered? Would they finally have the child they so desperately wanted? Dare they hope for it? Flooded with overwhelming emotions, they thanked the centaur before hurrying home. That night they had barely been able to sleep due to the news they had received. Despite being told it was impossible, they would be parents. They just had to wait for His timing.
But little did they know how soon their wish would come true.
Just as Reza was about to call her husband for dinner, there was a loud clatter outside. Shedoth sprang immediately to the window to investigate the noise. Reza was right behind him as they peered outside but they saw nothing. Glancing at each other, the two thought it must've been the wind and made to sit down at the table. Then they heard it: a small noise, barely noticeable above the wind. But the sound grew louder until they were able to distinguish it as someone crying. More specifically, a baby crying.
Quickly, the couple rushed to the door and flung it open. They found the source immediately, eyes being drawn to the sound. A baby wrapped tightly in a blanket lay on their doorstep. Reza picked up the child and held it close to her chest as she glanced around for the parents. Seeing none, she frowned and looked at her husband before heading back inside.
