The fourth arc, Virtual Worlds, finally begins.

Rick had absolutely no clue as to how long he'd been trapped in the data stream.

It was boring. It gave him time to think about things he didn't particularly want to think about. It did, however, finally give him time to sleep. It was just dark enough that he could rest for however long he was there for.

That was until he heard a loud grinding noise from above. A bright light shone down, and he blocked his eyes.

"Go away, I'm trying to sleep!" he yelled.

Something grabbed him by the waist. He looked down to see an orange claw.

"Uh-" he started before the claw dragged him back into wherever it came from.

The next thing he knew, he was in the inside of a spaceship. The odd empty feeling within him was gone, and he realized that he was normal again.

The claw dropped him onto the ground. He shook his head to get his bearings.

"Player!" A booming voice greeted him. He looked up at a rather shady looking man with sunglasses on. "Player, I have much to tell you!"

"Player?" Rick questioned, pointing at himself. "Okay, Discount Nick Fury. What's going on?"

"Is your name not Player?" the man asked with a frown.

"It's Rick. I don't know where you got this "Player" from. What kind of player are you talking about, anyway?"

  "Well-"

"Sir! An armada of enemy drones is approaching!" A younger man called out. Rick stared at the monitor the man was looking at.

  "Drones?" Rick asked, bewildered.

"Just as I was about to explain, too," the trench coat man grumbled. He turned to Rick. "You have guns, right?"

  "Yes?"

"Good, get ready for a battle." The man pulled out a rocket launcher. "Defend the generators! There's three of them!"

Out of nowhere, robotic birds and crawly drones appeared. Rick looked at the rifle he had pulled out, expecting an army rifle, only to see that it was instead an odd-looking gun with a Rubicks Cube on top. He was confused for sure, but there was no time for questions.

He and the mysterious man shot up the drones together. It had been so long since Rick had shot anything, and he found himself enjoying the adrenaline rush. As he ran up and down the ship, he noticed a cook and... a green beast man tearing any drones that came near them to pieces.

"Rick! Look out behind you!" The man fired a missile, and Rick dove to the floor. He heard a shriek quite like none other, and he looked to see a large, floating orb with four long arms attached. He made direct eye contact with the thing just before a large stream of flame spewed from its "eye".

"Ow ow ow ow ow OW!" Rick exclaimed as he scampered out of the way. He pat down the flames on his clothes before returning his own fire. The drone turned its attention to Rick, who lead it down into the ship as the man fired at its back.

Eventually, the drone had had enough, and it collapsed into a hunk of useless metal.
