• don't add a note in the middle of the story saying "too many people don't like this story so I think I'll discontinue" especially if it's a good story it really annoys the readers when the author discontinues the story because of hate.
• know the difference between hate and critique, critique will be "I like [x] about it but if you changed up [y] a little I think it could be better" and hate is "I don't like this because [x] should be better" there are also different forms of hate, the example I showed was the hate that might seem a bit like critique to new authors, but other kinds Include trash taking the story, telling the author how bad it is without saying what is bad, and ranting.
((Note: these examples of hate are based off of things I've personally seen, tell me if I should add/remove any examples))• never take critique too seriously unless it's a popular critique topic, per say, five people think it would be better if Billy said [x] instead of [y] but one person thinks Billy should have said [z] instead of [y], now still in this case, it's your story, and you shouldn't let critique make you change every last bit until it's no longer your story, make sure you only change a few minor things that the readers want.
• dont take critique personally, constructive criticism is usually someone who wants to help you get better, and don't reply with a rude comment like "shut up my story is fine!!" People want to help you get better, and that can be achieved by taking their feedback.
