Can It Get Any Worse

I got a call from Gray. He doesn't usually call me unless it's really important so I answered the call.

Ethan: "yo dude, what's up?"

Grayson: "dude, Cam's in hospital. She was in a car crash"

Ethan: "shit. I'll get there as soon as possible."

Grayson: "dude, hurry."

Ethan: "ok. I will."

I hung up.

Sydney: "what was that."

Ethan: "Grayson said that my sister is in hospital, I've gotta go."

Sydney: "I'll get my servant to take you."

Ethan: "really? Thanks so much Sydney, do you wanna come?"

Sydney: "only if you're ok with it."

Ethan: "yeah of course. Let's go."

We hurried down the stairs and Sydney got her servant. We got into the car and drove straight to the hospital. The servant stayed in the car and me and Sydney went in. I went up to the service desk.

Ethan: "hi is Cameron Dolan here?"

Staff: "yes, if you go left from here and then take the first right she's in the first room to your left."

Ethan: "thank you so much."

Me and Sydney hurried into the room. I saw Gray and y/n sitting in his lap. Mum and Dad were here as well. Cameron was unconscious and she looked really messed up.

Grayson: "oh my god, you're finally here."

Y/n and Gray got up and hugged me. I hugged my parents.

Ethan: "is she gonna be okay?"

Grayson: "the doctor said she should be. They said if she was sitting in the passenger seat, she wouldn't have a chance making it."

Ethan: "well that's lucky I guess. Is she gonna wake up soon?"

Lisa: "they said she will probably wake up in the next 20 minutes."

I sat on the side of the hospital bed and turned to face cameron.

Ethan: "cmon Cam, wake up."

I tear fell from my my eye. Sydney came over and comforted me, I was convinced that she was trying to be a better person.

Sydney: "hey, she's okay. You should be okay as well. She's gonna wake up and you are going to be able to talk to her."

Ethan: "I know but what if she doesn't wake up?"

Sydney: "don't think about that, she will wake up. Trust me, I know what it feels like."

I gave her a smile and stared at Cameron. Sydney had her hand on my back, even though it was very small, it helped. I wondered what she meant by 'I know what it feels like'. Grayson and y/n went back to where they were sitting. I looked over at y/n

Ethan: "I'm sorry for this morning. Just to let you know, I've been waiting to hear something like that from you. I hope you're ok. We can talk about it tomorrow if you want."

Y/n: "that would be good. How has your day been so far?"

Ethan: "well, besides this, it's been pretty good."

Y/n: "that's good I guess."

After a few minutes Cameron opened her eyes. She blinked a few times and then sat up.

Ethan and Grayson: "Cameron!"

Cameron: "huh. Where am I? Ow my wrist..what happened?"

Nurse: "I'm sorry to say this, Cameron, but you were in a car crash and you got some pretty serious injuries. It's better if you lay back down and move the back of the bed up."

Cameron: "oh sorry. Will I be ok?"

Nurse: "yes you will. You might just need some time to heal."

Even though she wasn't in the best shape, I was glad cameron was awake. Cameron layed back down and elevated the back of the bed. The nurse walked out of the room. Mum and dad hugged her one at a time. I could tell they were relieved as well. The nurse came back after a few minutes.

Nurse: "I'm sorry to say but Cameron had a few injures. She broke her leg in two places, she broke her wrist and she did some damage to her neck. She will have to stay in the hospital for at least a few days, depending on how fast she is healing. After that she will have to wait at least 4 weeks to heal everything, most likely she will need more time."

Sean: "oh. Um okay..well, I didn't expect that. Okay, Cameron, did you hear that?"

Cameron: "yeah. Was any of my things in the car that were damaged?"

Nurse: "um, well when the ambulance showed up, they didn't check the car for any of your things. What did you have?"

Cameron: "my phone, it was in the console box, my keys, my wallet, also in the console box and my handbag."

Nurse: "I'll check with the people who went to go search the car after."

The nurse went away again. I looked over at Cameron and hugged her.

Cameron: "don't worry, Ethan, I'll be fine."

Ethan: "I know but I just..I don't know."

We all stayed in the hospital for at least another 20 minutes then me, Sydney, Gray and Y/n went off. Grayson and y/n came with us as they had no ride home.
