Time seemed to have stopped ticking as the shadowhunter gathered his courage and decided to finally approach the warlock after three minutes of just staring. 'I have to do this now,' he swallowed again and continued his pace towards the velvet couch where the warlock had gracefully parked himself on, 'I can't go back now.' were his final words. Alec, being the dramatic shadowhunter he truly was, wanted to scream. He couldn't believe he was actually doing this and was more than proud of himself to have finally taken the first step to the mission he was so afraid of.

Alec couldn't be bothered by the people who were still grinding against each other or the lame music that was tearing his eardrum apart, although he did wonder why clubs put on these awful songs. It was like no one here except himself, of course, had a good taste in music. The only thing that mattered now was getting to Magnus without embarrassing himself in some way, which he was doing quite a good job at as he was still on his way to the couch.

Magnus wasn't alone though, there were some faeries sitting next to him which made the shadowhunter a bit uncomfortable. 'You're almost there,' he encouraged himself as rushing his right hand through his raven hair to make sure it was still in place, 'those seelies aren't going to ruin this mission for me.' he breathed nervously just before arriving in front of the velvet couch.

'I-I noticed you were looking at me.' he stumbled upon his own words and scratched the back of his neck as he knew he messed up already, why wasn't his courage rune working? Magnus seemed even more gorgeous up close, his beautiful skin looked very smooth and his eyeliner matched perfectly with the rest of his look. 'Didn't mean to, uh, I-' Alec took a deep breath and squeezed his eyes slightly as he couldn't come up with the right sentence.

'Sorry,' Alec apologised at first before finally continuing his introduction, 'I saw you from down there,' he pointed at the place where he noticed the warlock first,' and thought I might as well come up here to introduce myself or something.' he added the or something on purpose to make it look like he wasn't all desperate for attention. 'But only if you're okay with that.'

Magnus lifted his chin and commanded the seelies to leave him alone for a while. 'What made you think that I wouldn't be okay with a handsome shadowhunter coming up here to introduce himself?' he chuckled softly as tapping on the empty place next to him. 'I could use the company.' Alec frowned his dark brows as slowly moving himself to the couch. 'You were just chatting with faeries twenty seconds ago.' The warlock rolled with his dark eyes and leaned towards the shadowhunter. 'We're talking about seelies here,' he whispered in his ear making sure that the ladies wouldn't hear him, 'they're the complete opposite of what I like to call my type.' he mentioned as staring straight into the hazelnut eyes of the man next to him.

The expression that rested on the warlock his face gave away his slight interest in the shadowhunter and he chuckled by doing so. 'What is your type then? I mean, you seem like a man with good taste.' the raven-haired man asked unknowingly as he didn't quite understand the meaning of flirting in the first place. Magnus smirked clumsily and mentally facepalmed himself as he realised how inexperienced the shadowhunter was with love and everything that came with it.

'You haven't introduced yourself yet.' Magnus nodded his head along to the upbeat music and fancily crossed his legs as he was quite curious about the reason why the shadowhunter came up here in the first place, he was certain that it wasn't only to introduce himself. 'Right, I totally forgot to do that,' Alec apologised and chuckled softly as scratching the back of his head nervously, 'guess I was a little caught up in the moment and-' he stopped himself from talking as he remembered he still had to introduce himself. 'My name's Alec.' the shadowhunter said monotonously and he looked deeply into the eyes of the gorgeous man on the couch while saying his own name. 'Lightwood, Alec Lightwood.'
