Monica:

You were friends with Rachel first, the two of you always hung out together at the apartment or even the coffeehouse. Rachel invited you over to stay for a movie night, however she fell asleep at the start of the movie - typical. You seen her drifting asleep and you gently placed a blanket over her, making sure she wouldn't wake up. The snow outside was falling rather heavily, you doubt you could drive home in it. You sighed and began to get comfortable, making your way to the Kitchen and brewing a pot of tea.

Whilst you were pouring the water from the kettle, Monica walked in. You blushed softly, explaining what had happened. You two had met previously,  so it wasn't as awkward, however, something felt weird - something different. You offered her a cup and she accepted, her ruddy face lighting up at the thought of something hot to drink. Smiles were exchanged as she took her coat and shoes off, tidying them away with ease - in Monica fashion.

Time flew by a little too quickly, more than you would've liked. Both of  you stayed up late with each other, talking about everything from childhoods to coming out stories. You never knew Monica was gay, however for some reason you felt happy she was.

The evening had to come to an end, like all good things did. You grabbed your belongings and went to leave, "It was amazing having you here, I'm glad Rachel fell asleep, It's always nice to talk to friends of a friend, don't you think?" Monica effused, helping you with your coat. "Especially when they are so pretty", she says under her breath, "hmm?" you ask. "Oh nothing, don't worry about it" she interjected, unaware that you heard her.

You couldn't hide your smug grin for any longer, as Monica leant in for a goodbye hug, you delicately pulled her in for a kiss. She was caught off guard at first, but didn't hesitate to kiss you back. Moments later you pulled apart, both smiling ear to ear. She blushed slightly as Rachel awoken, "did I fall asleep?" She asked dazed, you nodded your head in response - too speechless to string up an actual reply. The movie credits broke the awkward silence as Rachel begins to stir, "was the movie at least any good?" she asks, rubbing her sleep ridden eyes, "Very" you and Monica replied at the same time, causing a laugh from both of you and yet another confused Rachel look.

Rachel

You were on a blind date, which your friend Phoebe set you both up on. Phoebe had spoken about Rachel many times before, however, you didn't think much about it - that was until you met her.

She greeted you with a friendly smile, met with an even friendlier hug, "You must be Y/N, it's great to finally get to meet you, Pheebs has told me so much about you!" Rachel hinted with an excited undertone. You scrambled out a similar sentence, as you both headed to sit on the oh-so famous orange couch at Central Perk. Gunther shoots you an indignant look, as he takes Rachel's order, "Maybe he's just having a bad day?" you wondered quietly to yourself. You shook it off as you handed him your card to pay for your drinks, he took it snappily and stormed off, It made Rachel giggle though - it was all worth it.

"So Phoebe told me you used to work here, how was that like?" you ask, genuinely curious. "It was nice, I got to work and talk to my friends at the same time. That's how I met Phoebe, she was playing the day I started. But I'm glad I left, coffee wasn't my forte, id much rather fashion" she said with an iconic Rachel laugh. You always loved when people talked about their interests, they would always talk about it with so much passion, you could sense how excited they got.
