The first things you did the next morning were take a long, hot shower and cry your eyes out. Never had two emotions conflicted so hard. You were so relieved to be alive, and to be protected, but so torn apart by the loss of your mother. Then there was the fear of the creatures and angels. All except Castiel. He seemed like a true guardian angel, quiet and strong. Waiting to contribute. That made you smile through your tears, and you had to sit down in the tub. How could your world have changed so dramatically? One day you're working and schooling and taking care of your mother.. The next you're taken by monsters who rip people to pieces and eat them. You're the only one left alive… But then you're rescued by two dreamy men and a stunning angel. Something you would have drooled at before everything. Now you were just happy to be alive, and to have people to trust.
When you finally got out of the shower, you dressed and did your hair. The clothes Dean had given you were a little big. Underneath the cloth your stomach rumbled deeply, signaling that you needed to eat. You walked out of the bathroom and were hit with the wonderful smell of breakfast food.
“Oh my God.” You moaned, your weak knees buckling under you. Before you could hit the ground, though, Castiel caught you.
“You are severely malnourished…” He said quietly, picking you up bridal style. You gasped and held onto him.
“W-Wait, what are you doing? Where are we going?” You questioned quickly. Castiel realized you were still going to suffer from trauma for some time to come.
“I need to show you something..” He said quietly. You gave him a scared look before his wings sprang from his back. They instantly gave you a welcomed sense of peace. You smiled at them. The corners of Castiel’s mouth twitched upward.
“Those who have heard the voice of an angel may gaze upon their wings.” Castiel explained, continuing to carry you. At that exact moment you knew he was going to be your best friend. He looked into your eyes and silently accepted the title as you laid your head against his chest. Castiel understood you position, because he, too, had been tortured and traumatized by his own kind.
The two of you reached the kitchen quickly afterwards watching both brothers cook. Sam cooked the eggs and worked on what looked like French toast while Dean worked on meats like bacon and ham. Castiel set you down at the table, his wings still out. He stood straight and gently maneuvered both him and his wings around different things in the room. He poured you a glass of orange juice, and set it down on the table. That seemed to get Dean's attention, because he turned around and looked at you. His eyes widened as he took in your clean form. You were beautiful.
“How was the shower?” He asked, flipping the bacon.
“Very cleansing, thank you.. I really appreciate it.” You said, taking a couple sips of orange juice. Dean smiled warmly.
“It's no problem.. I just want you to feel better.” He said before mentally slapping himself. Even Sam gave him a weird look.
“It'll just take some time.” You responded. Sam turned to you.
“Do you have any hobbies to pass the time around the bunker?” He asked. You nodded.
“I like to paint.” You answered. Sam perked.
“We have plenty of paint, and we can buy some canvases.” He suggested. You smiled.
“I'd like that very much.”After breakfast the boys took you to a shopping mall, offering to pay for clothes and things for you. The first thing you did was buy 5 bras and matching underwear. Sam and Castiel went to other shops while Dean stayed with you. Every so often he'd suggest some lacy panties or a band t-shirt. You picked out three pairs of black jeans and two blue pairs. You got socks and more cute panties. You got yourself a couple tank tops and two pairs of shorts. Shirt wise you grabbed a bunch of dressy shirts that fit you well. You dried some on and could almost swear that Fean enjoyed helping you shop. Along with those you grabbed a long coat and some boots. The ones Dean had let you wear were twice the size of your feet, and made you wobbly.
When you finished Dean lead you to Sam and Castiel who were talking near a couple of small shops. You and Dean carried bags full of clothes.
“Did you get everything?” Sam asked, holding some bags of his own. Even Castiel had a bag. You peeked into it to see that what he had was five canvases. You were a little disappointed, but were excited to know that they'd done well on their words. The three of them were so nice. It was easy to relax and trust them, because they were so genuine. For a moment the aching in your heart stopped.
