"Ariana! Get your ass downstairs now!" my mother yelled from the bottom of the staircase, with a spatula in hand. She must have been cooking. Huh. That's rare.

It was 7:30 in the morning. I was getting ready for another day in hell. I mean, high school.

"I yelled for you three times Ariana! Next time I tell you something I better see you within seconds!" She hissed.

"Yeah. Keep telling yourself that." I said biting into a piece of toast, and grabbing my book bag and car keys.

"Ariana! Don't get smart with me young lady!" She yelled again.

"MOM! Calm your tits. All you've done is yell and I haven't even been awake an hour." I said, walking out the door.

"Do you wanna be grounded?!" She asked, frantically waving her hands.

"Nope." I said popping the 'p' and walking out, and making sure to slam the door.

I soon heard my mother mumble multiple things. I didn't even care at this point. They are normally along the lines of,

"I fucking hate her."

"BITCH!!"

Or even,

"She is so fucking grounded."

"Ariana?" Jide asked, walking over.

"The one and only." I winked, wrapping my arms around him and resting my head on his chest.

"How's your mom been?" He frowned, as I pulled away.

"Oh my god! Never better! Still yelling, major asshole, going insane. Huh. I'd say the same." I laughed.

"How about yours?" I added, knowing his life wasn't really 'the best' either.

"Same old, same old. Deji is still the favorite. He has literally horrible grades, and still gets treated better than me. Yesterday my mum said she hated me, because I forgot to wash the dishes. The fucking dishes Ariana." JJ frowned once more, as I pulled him into another hug.

"I love you Ariana." JJ said, after a few seconds of being wrapped in my arms.

"I love you so much more." I smiled, pulling away.

"Honestly, what did we do to deserve these kinds of lives? Like how did our lives get so fucked up?" He asked, pulling me into another hug, and lying his head upon mine.

"I don't even know anymore. But as long as we have each other we should be fine right?" I smiled, looking up at him.

"Ari. I love the way you look at me. It's like I'm some kind of super hero." He chuckled.

"You are though!" I giggled.

"How sweet." He laughed.

"Oh don't be so flattered, Mr. Olatunji." I winked.

"Passing period is over you two." The dumbass principal felt the need to say.

"Really? I thought the school day was over." I said, rolling my eyes, as JJ and I walked away.

"You can't afford another detention." He laughed.

"Honestly you're right, but I don't really care." I laughed.
