During the Second Wizarding War, Remus and Tonks died. Because of their good soul and kind heart, they were sent to the afterlife. Sirius, Mercy, James, and Lily were waiting for them with smiles on their faces.
Tonks knew them from pictures and stories, but she had never talked to them or seen them in person - aside from Sirius.
"Hello, Tonks, I'm Mercy. Sirius told me you don't like to be called by your first name."
Tonks smiled and grasped Mercy's outstretched hand. "It's lovely to meet you."
She turned to James and Lily. "It's lovely to meet - " Then, she tripped over her own feet. She would have landed on the ground if Remus wasn't there to catch her. "Thank you, Remus. As I was saying, it's lovely to meet you two."
"It's lovely to meet the witch who managed to bewitch Remus," James said, grinning as Remus blushed.
"Sorry about James. He jokes a lot," jabbed Lily. "Sometimes, I wish I was deaf."
"It's not only you, Lily," said Mercy, jabbing her thumb at Sirius. "Sometimes, I don't even want to look at him."
"I know exactly what you mean," Tonks said.
"That's rude, cousin," Sirius retorted.
"Can you believe I'm related to him?" Tonks asked. "I don't see any resemblance."
"Yes, you're much prettier," said Mercy.
Sirius frowned. There was no doubt he looked much older than the group. Mercy, James, and Lily died young, so they still looked young. Remus and Sirius looked a little more dead and tired, but Remus seemed to have more life in him. Tonks was the youngest and she still looked young. All that time in Azkaban really tore Sirius down a little.
"Now, now, Padfoot, no need to frown," reassured James. "You're still much prettier than Lily."
