Chapter 2: Surprise

Katelynne's P.O.V.:

I had no idea where Justin wanted to take me so I decided on wearing what I wore to school earlier today.

I got dressed and applied some make up to cover up my bruises.

I then headed out the door to Justin's.

Yes he told me he would pick me up, but I didn't feel like waiting.

I texted Justin so he wouldn't be surprised when I arrived.

Me:
Im on my way

As I finished typing I bumped into someone.

I looked up to see... Kellin.

As he seen me I looked down and felt the blood flow to my cheeks.

"Hey! Sorry about that but Justin sent me to pick you up."

"Oh. No, I'm sorry I was too busy looking down and not paying attention to where I was going."

"It's fine, don't worry about it."

He said with that gorgeous smile of his.

"Okay. Thanks."

I said awkwardly.

"So shall we?"

He said reaching his hand out to me.

I nodded and walked past his arm.

I know it seemed rude but I was just too shy.

"So tell me. Why don't you ever speak to the guys and myself?"

I gave a shrug, but I knew he wanted a straight answer, I just couldn't give him one.

"Oh. Well, I would love to get to know you. I mean we've seen each other but that was our first real conversation back there."

I nodded.

"Well I know you and Justin are like brother and sister but I wanna let you know that I'm always here too."

He said with that smile of his.

The rest of the walk was in an awkward silence.

We had finally reached the house of my best friend and walked inside.

"Surprise!"

Justin, his family, and the rest of the band called out in unison.

I smiled and said a small thank you and engulfed my best friend in a hug.

I then went up to his parents and said a thank you to them and hugged them also.

Then the 3 of his band mates came up to me and wished me a happy birthday.

I genuinely said thank you and smiled at them.

They engulfed me in a group hug but I tensed up.

They noticed and let go.

They all walked away, but one boy in particular had stayed.

Kellin.

Yes I liked him but, I feel embarrassed to talk to him.

He's obviously been trying to speak to me but I just push him away.

It's a bad habit that I have, and sometimes I hate it.

I was interrupted by him speaking.

"Are you okay?"

I nodded in response with a smile; but then I actually said something.
