The way he had held them so close together. It had made Uzume's eyes water. She remembered the way the three of them would stay close to another while walking home. Sasuke usually flanked the side, while Uzume covered his back. Making sure Itachi never left their side. He wouldn't mind it at all. Only smiled and make a game out of it. He would run off as the others cased him around the village. Making their way to Sasuke's home - the finish line. Uzume never seemed to catch up - wearing dressed that stopped at the ankles had their advantages. Running was one of them. Though she had fun, they all did. Now that Itachi held them one last time, and explained everything. It was too much for her. Madara was her father, Her mother knew that at the very end she would always love Sasuke. That her love for her best friend would be his light through the darkness of hate. Everything Itachi had done was for Sasuke - He saved Konoha in the process of saving him. Him and Uzume both. And she realized that she couldn't love anyone other than Itachi, as hard as she tried. She couldn't do it ,not even with Sasuke. He was her brother, and everything that happened was in the past.
"Everyone's gone.." She whispered to herself. Sasuke nodded, finally looking into her dark eyes. Seeing the girl he had walked home from school with. The girl who held his hand when they were passed out on the floor. His friend. His best friend who was still alive. He tried to hate her with all of his heart, but she beared it. It may have burned deep inside of her,but she still helped him. That's what the meaning of friendship was about - Then Sasuke thought back to his teamates. Team 7. Naruto and Sakura - the girl who told him she loved him. That he won't regret staying in Konoha with her, but that would be meaningless. He needed to avenge his clan, Sakura wouldn't understand even when she lied about how she did. There was only one person who understood his quest for vengeance; and she was staring back at him. Uzume Uchiha.
She was sitting on the large rock and stared at the ground. Her eyes glistening. She was on the brink now- holding it in for as long as she could. Just for Itachi's sake. For Saizo's sake. He wondered when was the last time she actually cried? Maybe when she found Itachi alive. He must have seen her when he had the chance. He must have seen Saizo too. How had he thought about seeing his own son? The boy must've shown how smart he was, how strong he was too. Though he didn't say it, Sasuke still felt like he was tasked with becoming the father Saizo needs in his life. .
He sat down next to her and brushed her hair back. She shivered from his gentle touch and finally looked at him again. He cupped her face and their lips collided. It was soft and warm, tasting of tea and rice. She had answered his kisses with her own and the two never seemed to part. He had slid her closer to him as the kiss went on, her heart racing and her hands searching for the zipper of his jacket. He had taken it off and pulled it over her shoulders. Then his eyes looked around, and his face went into a passive state.Uzume turned her head and sighed. She had seen Suigetsu and Jugo walking forward. Suigetsu smirking as Sasuke held Uzume close to him.
When he first spoke, he had nothing valuable to say.He clearly missed Sasuke alot. Uzume sighed as he teased about the make out session he had walked in on. Uzume was on the verge of punching him in the face. Burning him maybe. But she kept eyeing that scroll in his hands, and she keglaring at the Taka member.
"What exactly do you have to say that's of use to us at the moment?" She asked, glaring at him. Her eyes telling him to shut up. Sasuke was smirking at her. That was supposed to be him rushing Suigetsu to get on with what ever he had to say, she just sat back and sighed. Now the tables have turned. Suigetsu mumbled some words and handed Sasuke the scroll he had been holding for quite some time now.
" I found this while looking through enemy intel. It's something you might want to look at." He said, while Sasuke unwrapped the scroll. reading its contents. Uzume peered over his shoulder, reading also. It was something interesting alright, something that he may need help with. Even if he was willing to look at the snake who made him this strong, he was willing to do it. Even if he needed answers. He was going to summon Orochimaru.
