dan never really wanted to have a friend, at least until he met ryan.
ryan was something different, he seemed somewhat mysterious, but still so lighthearted. ryan made his life a bit better, and helped him to prepare for his death without even knowing he did so.

ryan never understood why you would want to kill yourself. He loved his life, even if it was horrible sometimes.
dan made his life even better, but ryan didn't know that dan's life was slowly destroyed. he kinda knew he would want to kill himself, but he didn't realise how serious it was before he got to know him better.
ryan wants to save dan, dan wants to save ryan.

but isn't one always right while the other one isn't?
