Sirius came to his senses and pulled away.

"Maybe we should do this another time." he said, biting his lip.

"What?" Kat stared at him, face flushed.

"Kat, you're dr- "

"Whatever." she scowled. She lurched up, pushing away Sirius' arm when he tried to steady her.

"Kat I- "

"Shut up."

"But I'm trying to- "

"I'm not doing this right now." Kat said, defiantly wobbling towards the staircase.

He sighed at her difficultness and hurried to catch up to her. "This isn't you common room you know."

"I knew that." scoffed Kat. They stared into each other's eyes for a moment

"Look Kat," he began.

"I said not now." Kat frowned.

"Alright, alright." Sirius said. He scanned the common room and pulled Kat over to Marlene.

"What's up?" she asked, glancing away from Emmaline for the first time in hours.

"Can you bring Kat back to her common room? I want to make sure she gets back safe but she hits me everytime I try to help her."

"Well what did you do?" Marlene asked.

"Nothing!" Sirius said. "So can you?"

"Alright. I'll see you later, Emi." Marlene said and Emmaline giggled. She turned to Sirius. "Once I get back, you are telling me how you fucked up."

Heeding Sirius' words, Reg finally worked up the courage to confront Bianca about his feelings. He strategically approached her as soon as James left her alone to take care of Lily.

"Hey.  Have fun tonight?" Reg smiled.

"Definitely." Bianca said, unenthused. It turned out talking to James was getting boring. They were running out of things to talk about. But that's just how relationships worked after a while right? She was sure it would improve.

"So..." Reg said, bringing Bianca out of her thoughts.

"I'm sorry, Reginald. I'm really not in the mood." Bianca said genuinely apologetic.

"You never wanted to go to Hogsmeade with me, did you?" he sighed.

"Yes I did." Bianca said unconvincingly with a meek smile.

"No.  You didn't."

"Well, okay. No. Not actually."

Of course. He knew it all along and he was still crushed. "Well, then that's all you had to say. The fake flirting and then the ignoring was messed up." Reg finally vocalized.

Bianca paused. "Reginald, I'm sorry. Maybe it wasn't right, but I'm sorry. What can I do now?"

"Maybe?" he burst out. He shook his head. "My name's not Reginald, it's Regulus. To think I really like you. You're clearly not worth the trouble."

Bianca flinched, but didn't respond. She watched him walk out the portrait door, feeling sick.

After having a ton of fun at the party, he walked back to the Slytherin common room in an angry haze. Why had he gotten his hopes up?

He walked into his dorm to find Alice and Frank cuddling and reading together. The sight disgusted him and he was worried it would turn into something more, so he quickly left.
