Zero Kiryu x Yuki Cross

(Yuki's POV)

I let out a sigh as I listened to Yagari teach. I turned to look behind me and saw the seat where Zero usually set empty. Last night Zero had tried to drink from me and was shot by Yagari. Zero was confined to his quarters and I was left to worry about him.

"Yuki? Are you okay?" Sayori asked in a whisper.

I nodded my head and let out a sigh. Soon class was over and I made my way to Zero's room. I gently knocked on the door and waited for a reply.

"Who is it?" Zero asked calmly.

"Yuki.... can we talk?" I asked softly.

(Zero's POV)

I laid on my bed and let out a groan as I held my shoulder. Memories of last night flashed through my mind.

Why hadn't Yuki used her bracelet on me? Why didn't she stop me?

"Yuki.... you are a idiot." I whispered to myself.

I heard a knock on my door and let out another groan as I set up and held my shoulder.

"Who is it?" I asked calmly.

After a few seconds a gentle and quiet voice spoke up.

"Yuki... can we talk?" She asked softly.

I held my breath as I heard her voice. I slowly stood up and tip toes to my door.

"What do you want?" I asked as I kept the door shut.

"To talk... about last night."

"Then talk through the door." I said as I bit my lip.

(Yuki's POV)

"Then talk through the door." Zero said softly.

"I.... I wanted to know how you were feeling." I said softly.

"I'm fine.... just a little sore."

After a few minutes of silence I finally got up he nerve to ask him the question that was burning in the back of my mind.

"Are you mad at me?" I asked quickly.

I heard him let out a gasp and I held back tears as I waited for his answer.

"Why.... why would you think that?" He asked angrily.

"Because.... because I didn't use my bracelet..... I didn't try to stop you."

"Yuki...... I could never be angry with you." He said as he let out a sigh.

"Why?"

"... it's my turn to ask a question. Why didn't you stop me?" He asked calmly.

"I....."

Why didn't I try to stop him? I know one reason is because I didn't want to hurt him.... but was that the only reason..... or was it because..... because I care about him?

"I don't know." I whispered.

"That isn't an answer. You have to know."

"I.... I don't want to answer."

"Yuki.... I answered your question... answer mine... please." He begged.

"Because.... because I can't hurt you.... I care about you to much... I..."

I love you.... that's what I want to tell him but what would he think? Would he push me away?

(Zero's POV)

"Because.... because I can't hurt you.... I care about you to much... I..." She cut herself off and I leaned against the door.

Why did she stop talking? What was she going to say?

"Yuki.... finish what you were saying... please." I said softly.

When she didn't say anything I opened the door to see tears streaming down her face. She looked up at me and when the words came out of her mouth I felt my heart stop.

"I love you." She whispered.

(Yuki's POV)

"I love you." I whispered as I looked up at him.

I met his eyes and after a second I looked down.

I knew he didn't feel the same way.... Why was I so stupid to say anything?

I moved to walk away but was stopped by him grabbing my hand and turning me to face him.

"I can't be mad at you because I... I love you too Yuki... always have." He said as he pulled me into a gently kiss.
