Kaien Cross x Vamp Reader

I let out a groan as I walked down the street. It had been awhile since I was at this mansion. Nearly a twelve years to be exact. My long blue dress dragged across the ground and I held my breath as I walked up the stairs to the headmaster's office. I opened the door to see a man with blonde hair and hazel eyes. He looked up to greet me and his mouth hung open.

"Hello Kaien." I said softly.

"(Y/n)...... it's been awhile." He said as he stood up.

"Eleven years, ten months, and twenty two days.... to be exact." I said with a small smile.

"You haven't aged a day." He said softly.

"I'm a vampire..... we don't age after awhile." I said softly.

I looked behind him to see snow falling out the window. I smiled as I remembered the last time I was in this office.

(Eleven years earlier)

I brushed my long (h/c) hair out and let out a sigh as I put it in a bun. I heard my bedroom door opened and turned to see Kaien walk into the room.

"It's freezing out there!" He exclaimed as he slipped his jacket off.

"Really? I don't feel anything." I said with a smirk.

He rolled his eyes and I laughed as he walked up to me and put his arms around me. He kissed my cheek and I smiled as I looked into the mirror.

"I love you." He whispered as he held me tightly.

I looked at him shocked and saw a small smile on his face. Before I could say anything there was a knock on our door. He let out a sigh and left to answer it.

"Kaname? What's going on?" He asked as I followed him.

I frowned as I saw Kaname holding a child.

"She is injured.... level E." Kaname said calmly.

"Take her up stairs. I'll get bandages." I said as I rushed to get the medkit.

After I bandages her up I searched for some clean clothes.

"Her name is Yuki." Kaname said softly.

I nodded my head and continued to search through clothes. Soon I found some and I undressed her. After I changed her, I leaned back in a chair and waited for her to wake up.

"Morning sunshine." I said softly.

"The man.... where is he?" She asked in a whisper.

"I'll go get him." I said as I stood up.

I walked down the stairs and saw Kaname talking to Kaien.

"She is awake and asking for you." I said softly.

He nodded his head and walked up the stairs. Kaien let out a sigh and plopped down in his chair.

"She is Juri's daughter." He explained.

"I realized...." I said as I pecked his lips.

"Kaname wants us to watch her.... but I don't know if we can.... she has no memory of her past and what if-"

"It will be fine.... you will be a great father." I said as I took his hands in mine.

He sent me a smile and then we soon went to bed. As I watched him sleep thoughts went through my head.

Did I love him? Was this right? Could I be a good mother for Yuki? Would he worry more about me then her?

As the days past I realized that I couldn't stay. I waited for him to go to bed and then I packed a bag and left a note. I kissed his forehead and then left in the middle of the night.

(Present)

Kaien's eyes stayed on me and I let out a sigh.

"The last time I was in this office.... you said you loved me.... and I never got to tell you how I felt...." I said softly.

"Why did you leave?" He asked calmly.

"Yuki couldn't be around vampires..... Kaname wanted her to have a normal life and I agreed." I said softly.

"Real reason... and don't blame her."

"I was scared..... you could so easily tell me you loved me.... but I couldn't say the same to you.... I couldn't fully give myself to you." I said softly.

He watched me and I smiled softly.

"Leaving you..... it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I had to. Kaien I had to make sure that I wasn't rushing into a relationship with you.... that I wasn't falling to quick." I said softly.

I let out a sigh and looked at my hand.

"I know you could never forgive me but I love yo-" I was cut off by him grabbing my arms and pulling me into a deep and passionate kiss.

I kissed him back and smiled as he let my arms go and pulled me closer into his arms.
