Akatsuki Kain x Ruka Souen

(Ruka's POV)

It had been a year since Lord Kaname had asked Yuki to be his wife and it still burned a hole in my heart.

"Ruka.... are you alright?" A deep voice asked.

I looked up to see my best friend Akatsuki Kain. I sent him a small smile and let out a sigh.

"I'm fine." I said softly.

"You don't seem fine... talk to me Ruka." He said as he set beside me.

I laid my head in his lap and he gently brushed his fingers through my hair.

"Why couldn't he love me? I have been devoted to him for so long." I said in a whisper.

"I guess it's because he is a idiot... why he would want Yuki over someone as great as you I'll never understand." He said calmly.

I turned in his lap and looked up at him. His orange eyes stared into my brown eyes. I felt my heart skip a beat as I saw love shin in his eyes.

He could always make me feel better, if it was by him holding me or just being beside me... he never had to say anything, he just had to be there.

"Akatsuki.... can I kiss you?" I asked in a whisper.

He looked at me shocked and before he could answer I slowly leaned up and pressed my lips against his. He let out a gasp and froze as I gently pressed my lips against his. He soon let out a sigh and gently wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a deeper kiss.

"Ruka..... I love you." He whispered against my lips.

"I... I think I love you too." I whispered as I was pulled into another kiss.
