It was the night before Gam Ashe's birthday.
The seventeen-year-old brunette decided to spend the remaining time before her coming of age creating another masterpiece while listening to Greyson Chance's latest album. Her earphones filled her ears with the track "Shut Up" as the tip of her charcoal pencil grazed the paper that laid on a wooden desk from time to time. She switched every once and awhile between harsh strokes and smooth hand motions to perfect the lines and shadows. The drawing was far from finish to Ashe, but anyone could tell who she was illustrating.
Everything screamed peaceful for Ashe, but that was until she heard a light tap on her glass window.
She stopped mid-sketch when she heard the sound. Glancing at the two windows that were placed only on one side of her room, she saw that both of the glass panes were shut.
Must have been the wind, she thought, and continued on drawing.
Then she heard another tap again.
This time, the brunette pulled out one of her earbuds and looked at the window again. They were still closed shut, as per usual. She noticed the branches and leaves of the tree outside their home moving however. Trying to be rational once again, she blamed it on the wind.
Ashe didn't put on her earphone back on, though.
The girl continued on drawing in silence for two whole minutes. A new song had already come up, and Ashe was really getting into her current work.
Tap, tap.
She whipped her head back again at the window. The leaves and branches weren't moving this time.
Quietly, she put her pencil down and pulled out the other earbud she had on. Slowly, she walked over to the window which was five feet away from her, picking up a book from a nearby shelf.
The window suddenly opened by itself.
Her eyes grew wide. Ashe could feel her heart racing. She wondered if she should scream already for her parents or tackle this intruder on her own.
