So, this is technically the last chapter of "The Roommate | Zach Herron." (there's an epilogue).
I am hopeful that it fulfills your hearts. As it will for me. Enjoy :')

Zach's p.o.v

It's a couple days after Everly and I kissed. So far everything is more than okay. It feels right with her, it's hard to describe. My feelings for her have been a roller coaster, and I've never felt any of these emotions with other girls before. But that's the thing, Everly isn't just another girl. She's special, and officially mine to kiss, cuddle, go on dates with, and be the best boyfriend she's ever had.

We're sitting on the couch, watching some tv, while Ben and Nick stumble into the apartment giggling like kids.

I chuckle once I see Ben's red face. "Hey bro, how are you two lovers doing?"

Ben shyly looks away, and Nick hugs him into his shoulder. Gosh they are cute together. I'm happy for Ben.

Nick speaks for Ben, who is too embarrassed at the moment. "We just went on our first official date. This guy," Nick gestures to Ben and messeswith his hair, "finally called me his boyfriend tonight. It was adorable."

Nick smiles, and I can see how much he really likes Ben. They look in love, but I don't think they realize it. It's very obvious from the way they look at one another. I wonder if I look at Everly the same way, without even realizing it.

Ben laughs at something Nick says, and the two of them just go to Ben's bedroom, shutting the door. I don't even want to know what that's about.

Everly notices my expression, and smacks me in the shoulder playfully. She's grinning from ear to ear. "Stop it, Z. Just focus on the tv, or me." She mumbles the last part, but I hear her clearly.

I wrap my arms around her, and squeeze her tight. I then leave a kiss on her forehead. She relaxes into me, and we sit on the couch as the night rolls by. These are my favorite type of nights.

It's around 8pm, and Everly has just finished her fries that we ordered for dinner. She's now taking a nap beside me. I slowly get up after a while, and try not to wake her up. Successfully, I make my way to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the fridge. I take a sip, and almost spill the whole thing when there's a sudden knock at the door. Weird, we aren't expecting anyone.

"Hi, hon. Can I come in?" I stand in the doorway as my mother looks up at me. I should have kept the door closed. She's done enough damage, what more can she do?

I shake my head. "No you can't. Mom, what are you even doing here? It's late."

She sighs, combing her fingers through her light brown hair. "I'm sorry, I know it's late. Please, let me in. I want to say a few things."

Her eyes show worry. I don't know if I want to let her in or not. I look back behind me, towards the couch where Everly sleeps peacefully, and guide my mom out into the hallway to talk. I didn't want to risk waking up Everly.

"Sorry, my girlfriend's sleeping on the couch. Anything you want to say can be done out here." I cross my arms, and leaned my back against the wall.

My mother looks taken back. Probably because I said the word girlfriend.

Instead of saying anything about it, she closes her eyes for a minute, sighing until she finally speaks. "I know I haven't been the best mom. I'm hard on you, I blame you for everything that goes wrong in my life, and I gave you the worst childhood by putting you down for your mistakes."
