Xaviera began pacing in the lobby room.

They were at the doctors waiting for a result on the pregnancy test.

Oscar had dragged her all the way here because he said he doesn't 'trust the shitty corner store ones'. Xaviera scoffed and followed him anyway.

"Ay, Mami?" Oscar exclaimed in annoyance, "Sit down, you're annoying me."

Xaviera whirled round and immediately regretted doing so. Choking down her vomit, she spoke, "I'm annoying you? I'm nervous as shit, Oscar. Something tells me this isn't your first pregnancy test and that's why you're sitting there all calm."

Oscar raised his eyebrows and tried to hide his smile but failed.

"I want to slap your pretty little face." scowled Xaviera.

Oscar laughed and grabbed her hand, leading her to sit on his lap. They were alone in the waiting room and the silence added onto Xaviera's anxiety.

"Listen to me, Bonita, just calm down..." he kissed her neck.

Xaviera squirmed, "Oscar!" She groaned, "We're in a public place!"

"Mhm, and so what?" He whispered into her neck.

"You play too much." She pushed him away.

"And you don't play enough. Plus I deserve something, you made me watch all those bullshit cartoons with you. And I had to sit there listening to the wailing you call singing."

She opened her mouth in shock, "You were the one who suggested it!"

"That was because I was trying to fuck. Then when the stupid movie finished, you fell asleep."

"I was tired!" Xaviera defensively crossed her arms.

"Yeah well my dick wasn't." He scoffed, then pulled her close again, rubbing her stomach. It was a recent habit he'd developed. Sometimes he'd call her over just for the sake of doing it.

"How are we going to tell the rest of the gang? I mean, that's if I am pregnant."

"You probably are. And it's how am I going to tell them, when I tell them I'm locking you up."

She screwed her face, "What the hell? Why?"

"So they don't attack you." He said bluntly.

Xaviera decided not to press the matter and looked away.

A few moments of silence went by before Oscar tutted and muttered, "How long does it take?"

Almost immediately, the doctor came out holding a clipboard and Xaviera stood up. Oscar, however, remained seated, until he saw Xaviera make a face at him and he reluctantly stood up.

"Well I have news!" said the Doctor.

Oscar muttered a 'no shit' and Xaviera smacked his arm.

"Congratulations! You'll be sporting a baby bump soon enough. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and make sure to check who your midwife will be on the way out."
