Julian's POV

What the fuck is up with her?

I am so damn sure there is more to her than what she expressed today. Yet I appointed her so fucking easily just because of the damned coffee and in order to know what those eyes hide.

Swear less, you are a billionaire businessman. You have a reputation.

Fuck it.

All I want to know is what she's trying to conceal. Was that fear in her eyes? Regret?  Stop thinking about her and get back to work.

Alex barged into my office like it belonged to him.

"Hellloooo Mamma's boy!" He sang.

"Alex don't you think you should be assisting your father right now?"

His father was one of the leading businessman in the city but recently their company suffered a huge loss. Once the condition comes back to normal, Mr. Wilson would retire and give away his post to Alex. I don't even know how he would able to handle it.

"Whatever Julian. Stop being so bossy."

I am the boss. What do you even expect?

I wanted to argue but recalled that I had a conference call. So I sighed and gave up, because I was fully aware that trying to prove your point to Alex is like talking to a cat who's been ignoring you for hours.

"Look, I have to go and attend a conference call so you may do whatever you want. I will leave for now." I patted his back and walked out.

You expect me to hug?

"So bossy." I heard him mumble as I walked.

We've been best friends since childhood. Our fathers were best friends, our mothers too became soon after and so did we. He's the only person that I can ever open up to. We might fool around and have stupid fights, but I know that I can always trust him and he too knows that I will have his back no matter what.

The day passed by in a flash. The work was already double owing to the absence of a secretary. Working without a personal assistant is tiring as well as time consuming. Thank God, Isabella will be there from tomorrow.

Stop being so dependant. You know what happens every time you get an assistant.

Seduction. Money. Revenge. Media.

I've come to a point in my life where I feel that I don't belong in this world and nobody can fix it.

Instead of going to a bar or calling a friend with benefits. I decided to directly go home. I am already really exhausted to handle a blonde with face full of plastic and a high-pitched voice.

As I opened my bedroom door. Pixie came running towards me. I hugged her and patted her head.

"How's my babygirl doing?"

She licked my hand and tried jumping furiously in my arms.

Pixie is my poodle. Well not exactly mine. She belongs to my sister Evelyn who recently married Felix Anderson. An eminent model and the son of our old business partner. Pixie was not able to adapt herself at their house yet, so Pixie's still here with me till she becomes a bit more adapted there.
