third person's pov

"bye, ggukie! i'll come back on my own today!" taehyung smiled, waving goodbye to jeongguk.

"no no! it'll be dark then! i'll come to pick you up, love," jeongguk said and taehyung shook his head.

"i'll ask bogumie hyungie to drop me, okay?" taehyung said and jeongguk frowned, not knowing why taehyung was avoiding him coming to pick him up.

"yeah, okay," jeongguk smiled nonetheless.

"i love you," jeongguk said.

"i love you too," taehyung smiled, pecking jeongguk's lips and going in the shop.

•••

it was nine o'clock and taehyung still wasn't home.

jeongguk tried calling taehyung, but his phone was switched off.

jeongguk called bogum, who picked up.

"hey, gguk! what's up, man?"

"nothing much. were there too many customers today?"

"what are you talking about? i'm at jeju island with my family."

jeongguk frowned by the answer.

"is anything wrong, gguk?"

"ah no no. i must've misheard. thank you, hyung. i'm gonna have to call you later."

"alright, gguk. if you need anything, text me. bye."

jeongguk hung up, staring at the wall motionless.

soon, the door opened revealing taehyung, who had a huge bruise on his cheek.

"tae?! what happened?" jeongguk rushed to taehyung's side to check his bruise.

"it's n-nothing. i f-fell," taehyung chuckled nervously.

"are you sure? that looks like a punch—"

"it's n-not!" taehyung said immediately.

"did bogum hyung drop you?" jeongguk asked.

"huh? oh! y-yes," taehyung smiled, but jeongguk knew it wasn't a genuine one.

"i'll go and change now!" taehyung scrambled in his room.

"why are you lying, my love?" jeongguk mumbled sadly.
