Nicki POV
After taking Aerial and Tori to school and dropping Mila off at daycare , I slowly made my way to my doctors appointment. I wanted to tell Brandon about it but I decided against it.
As I was driving down the freeway , many questions bumrush my thoughts. If I'm pregant what's going to happen to my current cases? I can't do my job pregnant? If I take a maternity leave I'll get so far behind and It'll set me back for my bonus...Brandon already said he'll help take care of it. I never really had a doubt in that part anyways. I don't know. I'm just nervous as hell. Apart of me is happy but then apart of me is like this could be a major set back. I might just be overreacting cause it's also a possiblity that those test at the house were all wrong and outdated and I'm not. Ughhhhhhhhh, We'll see though.
When I arrived at the doctors office I pulled into the nearest park and killed the engine. I pulled out my phone and dialed my assistant number at the law firm.
"Yes, THis is Dana speaking" she answered
"Hey Dana, This is Nicki and I'm going to be a bit late but if anybody calls tell them I'm in a conference meeting."
"Okay , Will do"
"Okay thanks."
I ended the call, took a deep breath and made my way into the doctors office.
Once I signed my name in I began filling out the paper work they gave me. About 20 minutes later I was finshed and still waiting on a doctor. I was a bit nervous so I began playing a game. Just as the game pulled up the doctor called me to the back.
I was led to a back room where right off the back , she began taking my weight, height and checking my vitals. My blood pressure was fine as well as everything else.
"So Ms.Nicki, What can I help you with today?" the nurse asked putting information into the computer
"I need a legit pregnacy test."
"Okay, I'm pretty sure Our test here are pretty legit."She said smiling at her own doctor joke. I nodded. She reached up in the cabinet and pulled down a plastic cup.
"Okay, I'm going to need a sample of your urine. Just urniate in the cup and give it to the lady at the counter. The doctor will be in here to read you your results , If you are pregnant he'll go over the things that will need to be taken place for you next appointment as well as provide you with prenatal vitamins."
"Okay thank you"
"My pleasure, You can use the restroom down the hall on the right."
"Okay"I said hopping down from the little bed and making my way to the bathroom. I didn't even have to use the restroom. I stopped by the water fountain and drunk alot of water untill I was full. When I did so, I made my way to the restroom. i cut the water on and handled my busniess.
When I was finished I washed my hands and left the cup with the lady at the front.
"You can return to the previous room the nurse had you in , The doctor will be with you shortly?"
"Okay"
I made my way into the room and sat patiently. This appointment is borning as hell and I'm tired, hungry and sleepy. I'm just ready to go home. I'm thinking soo hard about not even showing up at work today.
About 30 minutes later the doctor came in with a clip board.
"Hey Ms. Nicki, How are you today?" She questioend
"Good"I short answered her. I'm just ready to get this damn appointment over with already.
"That's good, I'm doctor Samatha and I'll be reading you your results." She said sitting on her rolling chair.
"Okay"
"Are you nervous"She questioned looking through her papers.
"Yeah, A little bit."
"Awh, I'm assuming you want me to hurry and get this over with " You'd think. I just gave her a weak smile
"Okay, This test indicates that you are infact 8 weeks pregnant."
"are you serious" I whispered to myself. I took a deep breath.
"Yes ma'am, Is this your first pregnancy?" she questioned
"No ma'am it isn't I have a little girl"
"Okay, so you know to excercise regularly , eat healthy and take your prenatal viatamins I'm about to prescribe to you"
"Yes ma'am I know about all that."
"Okay, Ma'am it's also very important that you try to stay stressfree as possible . Women seem to have a hard time dealing with stress. Here we have free yoga classes for expecting mothers. Alot of women has been miscarrying due to stress. To prevent that we have Yoga group classes. You can feel free to come Mon- Sat 9am-3pm" She explained.
"Thanks so much"
She showed me an ultrasound and we heard the heartbeat. My nervousness then turned into happiness as I invisioned another lil me running around the house. Aerial, Tori and Mila will be a big sister and have to protect their lil brother or sister. I was no longer nervousess. I was filled with so much joy and excitement.
After we finished looking at the baby, she gave me my prenatal vitamins , my ultrasound pictures and explained to me when my next apointment is. I was so excited, I couldn't wait to get home to reveal the news to Brandon and the kids.

After spending a long day at work , catching up on work and stuff I finally make it home. Pulling into the driveway I see these big ass letters carved into Brandon's truck. The letters say RIC4CB It looks as if it's somebody initials or it stands for something. I wonder why the hell he put that there. I grabbed the ultrasound and prenatal vitamins and headed into the house.
When I opened the door all you heard was screaming, laughing and the lound ass TV. The kitchen was clean but had pots on the stove. Whatever it was smelt good as hell. I put my purse down and walked into the living room only to see Brandon on the couch letting the kids put make up on him. I smiled and watched as the girls enojoyed their play date with him. Brandon will make a great father , I'm so excited for this new baby. I wonder how I'm going to tell him thoe.
I turned back around and went to the kithcen. I removed the pot from the stove and seen there was collards, neck bones and rice , cornbread and fried chicken. My mouth was watering and I needed a plate now. I reached in the cabinet to grab a plate but then the oven started beeping. I raised my eye brow and opened the oven. It was mac and cheese too. OMG. I was in heaven.
i cut the oven off and began fixing my plate. I piled it up high and made sure I got my veggies in. I sat at the table said my grace and dug into my food. It was well seasoned and it tasted sooo good to me. I finished my food in less than 15 minutes. I washed my plate grabbed some tea from the fridge and wiped my mouth. I looked around the kitchen and seen that I done dug a big portion of mac and cheese out the pan and Brandon is gonna be mad when he see's it.
'Shit"I whispered. I grabbed my purse and sat the ultrasound pic and prenatals beside it. I grabbed a marker and paper towel and wrote him a note.
I had a reason
i sealed it with a kiss and tip toed upstairs to shower and sleep. Dinner was amazing.
