My head throbbed as I started to wake up and I groaned. I really couldn't be asked to go into school today but I had already taken the day off yesterday for Alex. Alex. My eyes fluttered open as I realised what had really gone on yesterday. I groaned again as I knew I'd have to face him again today. I rubbed my face in frustration.

I quickly got out of bed, brushed my teeth, showered and got dressed. I ate my breakfast as fast as I could. If you couldn't tell, I was trying to avoid my mum. I was still seething about what had happened when I got home.

"Good morning." She said from behind me. I turned around and she smiled. I just looked at her and turned back to the sink.

"Mornin'". I mumbled, putting my bowl on the rack to dry. I hurriedly dried my hands and pushed past her. I grabbed my coat and put it on.

"You're in a hurry this morning." She stood watching me, her brown hair a bit messy, one arm crossed under her chest and her other hand delicately touching her collarbone.

"Yeah, I'm late." I put my bag over my shoulder.

"You sure? It's only quarter to eight."

"Well I want to get to school a bit earlier." She tightened her robe around her and picked up her car keys.

"Oh let me drop you then." She walked towards me and I put my hands out in front of me to stop her.

"No!" I exclaimed. She looked at me shocked.

"I just want to go to school by myself, I don't want you to drop me." I looked at her momentarily before I grabbed my keys and left.

I stood at my bus stop for a few minutes before I grew impatient and started to walk. I had taken no more than 5 steps before a voice made me turn around.

"The bus is due, you sure you're gonna make it to the next stop before it gets here?" He was smirking which he seemed to always be doing. I walked back and smiled at him sheepishly.

"Thanks." I replied.

"No problem." He nodded. I looked down at my phone, opening random apps so it looked like I was actually doing something. All the while I could feel him staring at me. I faced him, my eyes still on my phone.

"Yes, Nathan?" I looked up at him, smirking. He raised his eyebrows before his smirk returned.

"You alright today?" He asked.

"Yes. Are you?" I shot back.

"I'm blessed, thank you for asking." He laughed. I grinned. The bus came and being the gentleman Nathan was, he let me on first. I smiled my thanks to him before making my way towards the back.

Like before, he came and sat next to me.
"There are plenty of other seats you could have chosen to sit in." I pointed around the near empty bus.

"Yeah but I wanted to sit here." He looked at me. I put my earphones in and ignored him. I turned my music up but soon after, my earphone fell out of my ear like last time. Squeezing the air by my chest, I turned around and Nathan was holding my earphone in the air. I screwed him before pushing his arm forcefully and taking back my earphone.

"Did you not learn the first time?" I turned and faced the window but my earphone came out of my ear again.

"Nathan!" I turned around.

"I was trying to talk to you."

"And I was trying to listen to my music. Now give it back. Gimme!" I reached up for my earphone which he pulled high above his head, causing my other earphone to come out.
