Soul Searching

Choices

They seem harmless and they are smiling at me but that did not helped. I'm still in shock and shaking through my bones. I can see them but they are translucent and floating in thin air. It was nearly night fall and I'm in a graveyard. How can i be so stupid? Went to that place and passed out for few hours, now, for the second time that day, I can't move a muscle. 

I don't believe in ghosts but now I'm having second thoughts. They look like they lived a hundreds years back. They are wearing dresses and big hats. I can't see them clearly but I know that one of them is thin and gray haired, and the other is quite fat with a protruding nose, 

" What do you want boy?" Said the fat one and lowering her voice to appear scary.

" Don't scare him Bathilda." Said the thin one.

"What? We are ghosts. We are supposed to scare people."

"No. If we scare them off, they might not come here any more. We barely have visitors."

"Please Edith. Just this once."

"What are you, 9 years old? May I just remind you miss that you are already 115 years old,  so act your age."

The thin one turned to me and said,

" Are you alright child? don't be scared, we won't hurt you, right?" Asking the other with a sarcastic voice.

"But I wan't to...." Being stubborn and pouting her lips.

" Bathilda!" 

"Okay...We won't hurt you." Said the fat one with frustration in her voice.

" I'm fine thank you. I need to go, It's getting late." I said as i got up from the ground.

" You should stay. The elders are having a gathering in any minutes so we won't be able to accompany you on your way out." Said the thin one.

"I think i can find my way on my own so don't bother yourselves." I said trying to stay calm.

" Oh no boy. Do you think you could just walk through the yard during the night? You don't want be snatched by the new ones."

I don't know if she just said that so I would stay for the night or she's telling the truth. I'll take my chances. It's either go with this two old ladies who did not harm me while I was unconscious or risk walking out of the yard. 

" What will the new ones do when they snatch me?" I asked pretending I'm not scared.

" ooooh! They will rip your soul in to two and hide one part in the Tomb of Lost Souls and dump the other part in the Sea of Never Ending Sorrows." Whispered the fat lady.

" She's exaggerating right?" I asked the other.

" I'm afraid not my child." said the thin lady in a very sad voice.  

They walked forward and without thinking twice, I followed them.
