"so you met freddie and roger," your grand-daughter asked, "and before they became famous?"

julia asked if she could look through your old photos from when you were a teenager for a school project and of course you said yes. you just never expected to see this one (top of fanfic). it was buried deep inside a box that had been filled with old clothes that stopped fitting you about thirty years ago.

the second you saw it you felt your eyes mist over along memories flooding your brain. you thought you had lost the picture years ago but nope, there it was and in the hands of your Queen obsessed grand baby.

"yes love i had met them a long time ago right when they opened there shed of a place in Kensington market." you told her, pretending that you wanted to end the discussion even though you were praying she would still pry for answers.

"tell me about them. i need to know the whole story grandma. please."

and how could you say no to that?

so there you were standing in front of Kensington market hoping that somewhere inside the kiosk filled place there would be a dress made for you. you had a date that night with someone that you honestly didn't even like but you still wanted to look nice.

you didn't really know what to look for nor where to go but you thought you would just try to have fun through it all.

there were many stalls in sight but you were instantly drawn to one. it held many pieces of clothing that were all sorts of different colors. it was bright and new and you immediately loved it. you quickly walked over, going inside the small hall to go through the racks.

about half way through the dress rack you were tapped on the shoulder by a rather handsome man.

"hello love!" he said with sparkly brown eyes and black wavy hair.

"oh hi, do i know you?"

"no, no dear but i just happened to notice how nice i think this dress would look on you." he held a long black dress that dripped with elegance.

"oh wow, where did you find this because i've been looking through these racks for forever and i never saw this?"

"well this is my stall and i've been holding onto this little beauty, waiting for the right girl to show up. so naturally when i saw you, i knew it had your name written all over it."

"well should i try it on?" you steered your gaze away from the dress to look back up at the man feeling your cheeks burn from just how handsome he was.

"of course. go go!" he yelled pushing you towards the small dressing room.

after maneuvering it onto your body and other than it being a little tight it still looked wonderful. it was exactly what you had been looking for.

you opened the door to see two men standing outside conversing as they waited for you to finish changing. it was the same brown eyed beauty as before but now stood a slightly shorter man next to him. this one had long blond hair and pretty blue eyes. they were both quite the charmers.

their conversation stopped abruptly when they heard your high heels click on the hardwood. they looked you up and down as you stared at them waiting for some type of response.

"wow fred you told me she was beautiful but not this beautiful.." the blonde murmured while putting his hand out for you to shake.

"hello there I'm roger and you must be?"

"(y/n)"

"well (y/n), it's a pleasure to meet you. freddie and i run this stall." roger told you, slowly and reluctantly letting go of your hand.

"you are gorgeous in that dress, love." freddie couldn't tear his eyes from your figure continuing to look from your eyes to your toes repeatedly.

"yeah?"

"fuck yeah."

you laughed at his response, seeing him smile and chuckle along with you.

after you changed back into your clothing and bought the dress you stayed there with them. you guys just sat in the back hanging out for hours on end. it was truly a blast but you knew it was getting late and that you had to go home soon.

"wait before you go we should take a picture, just to remember today." roger grabbed the camera as you and freddie nodded a long in agreement.

roger set a quick timer, as he ran back to sit down between you and freddie. the camera flashed and you felt a big smile appear on your face when you saw the picture.

"do you mind if i keep this?" you asked hoping they would say yes which they did.

you said your goodbyes to roger, giving him a hug and a thank you.

freddie walked you out with his hand interlocked with yours. you didn't really notice when he grabbed your hand but you didn't mind nonetheless.

as you both stood outside the doors of the kensington market you could feel this smile creep on your face as you thought about the last few hours.

"thank you for coming in today (y/n). really it meant a lot."

"it meant a lot to me too fred. i even stood up a date for this." you giggled realizing almost how foolish that sounded.

"the lad doesn't even realize what he missed."

"i'm sure." you have a little smirk as freddie leaned in giving you a light but lustful kiss. it was unexpected but great.

"take my number and call me love. i need to see you again." he begged you.

"of course, goodbye freddie."

"goodbye (y/n)."

"... and then on my way home i never found that piece of paper with his number he gave me. i figured i might have dropped it as i was walking. even a few days later i came in to go to freddie and rogers stall but it wasn't there anymore. they closed it because business wasn't doing well. i never saw that man again." you finished your story with a melancholy smile lingering on your lips.

"grandma, i'm so sorry. i wish you two ended up together because that would've been pretty cool it sounds like."

you giggled, "yes that would've been pretty cool."

you looked back down at the picture, feeling your eyes becoming filled with tears. you closed your eyes and tried remembering what it was like when you kissed him, what his voice sounded like and even what his clothes felt like. all just so you could remember him.
