Anthony soon found out what his meant when she said, "Stop moving so fast, enjoy your childhood". He now understood how hard it was for her to raise him on her own but could never understand how she stayed so strong. Anthony was always drunk and couldnt deal with anything sober anymore. The rent wasnt cheap, bills were always due and their son, Michael, was seemingly growing by the minute. Anthony took on more work but Abby noticed he also took on drinking alcohol, excessively. It was never a casual home-from-work drink or an occasional pull out the wine , but it was a must have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From the time he awoke, he had already had a pint of vodka before he even made it out the door. Abby was too afraid to even mention it. She knew everything laid heavy on his shoulders and didnt want to stress him even more.
Anthony started bringing home his stress from work. He would come in and pick arguments with Abby that led to dangerous fights every other night. Abby finally decided to leave and file for divorce. Abby moved in with her grandfather in New York leaving Michael with his father, Anthony.
Micheal rarely saw his mother and was always home alone. His father worked longed hours and whegn he wasnt working he was at the bar. Micheal was a smart kid in school, top in his class, but there were problems for him.A couple of troubled students were bullying him. They were jealous and intimidated. Michael was one of the smartest out 10 students in his entire school.One day at school, Michael was eating lunch in the cafeteria. One of the biggest bullies, James, took his plate and smashed it in his face.Everybody started to laugh at Micheal and it seemed to last the rest of the day. Michael didn't tell anyone, he was to afraid. He wanted to tell his dad who he knew would be furious, but he didnt want to make it a big deal. He figured it wouldnt happen again.
