Not-So-Superpowers

Once we all passed out and regained consciousness, everyone tried to figure out what went down with them.

As of know, we know Deven's got this crazy strength thing. Lucy seemed to be even smarter than usual, which kinda scares me when I think now of her future study-binge sessions. Alkina didn't really change, and neither did Zephyr, since they both already have their own things. Skyler also seemed to be unchanged, she might also have her own powers, hell if I know.  As for me...?

I'm not sure.

I'm having these like... winds? I dunno. I'm somewhat dizzy and then I'm fine, rinse and repeat. It's dumb. It's a 'something-that-looks-like-it-might-make-sense-but-it-might-not' kind of dumb.

We're all still befuddled by the sudden collapse of the school, but I'm not complaining. Granite Bay is now just granite in the bay, and that's it. I wonder which school will be our makeshift.

Anyway, I think I also got my brains shaken out by this thing, I have no idea what to do. Skyler seems to have her shit together, though, seeing as she's headed over to the rubble to check for survivors... or maybe just her belongings, knowing the Z generation, hah.

Seeing as the others are still as confused as I am, I decided to just follow Skyler, first plinking the small key back in the crystal, stuffing it in my pocket. As I catch up to her in a few moments, I see that she was indeed searching for one of her belongings, seeing as there's a corpse here or there. Rats. Rat corpses. Who knew the school had rats?

She gasps, which caught me off guard, and she starts to frantically move the debris from a specific spot, and I decided to help her, because I had nothing better to do. I loom over her shoulder (which, granted, does feel a bit like something a nosy person would do), and see she's trying to yank out a small leather bag. I don't say anything (mainly because I didn't really want to) and start helping her out, moving a concrete piece or two. Small pieces. If Deven was here, he could probably haul away half of this in a single bound, given how strong he is now.

After a few moments and scrapes, we manage to finally free her bag, or backpack. Something of the sort. It was colored a light blue, but from the rubble, a slight gray-brown dust came over it, dulling its original shade. "What's in the bag?" It's better to ask right away, before finding out in some turn of events.

She turns to me, her long, dark brown hair covering a bit of her face. I'd say it was ominous, in sense. "A few vials, is it. I made these in Chemistry, and I wanted to keep 'em." I nod, following along with her explanation. "Oh, yeah. I'm surprised they aren't broken." She nods and gives a sigh of relief, hugging the bag to her chest. "Yeah, I am too. I thought I had lost it all..." She looks into the bag, just to make sure, and her eyes widen for a moment. "Ah, shoot. One did break... just one, though, I'm sure I can replace it later." Curious, again, I tilt my head, giving a second query, "Which one?"

"The smallest one. Had a bit of a blue-ish formula in it. I forgot what it did, though..." She stood there with thoughtfulness etched on her face, and I look at the others.

They managed to make 2 craters already.

They seemed to be... in distress, though... Wanting to obviously check out why (I'm a curious person, sue me), I begin to step out of the rubble, motioning for Skyler to follow, which she did. How did they make those craters without any noise though?

As we approached the scene, we found our normal group all mortified and scattered around, not hurt, though, so I assume they ran for safety. They did right, too, those craters aren't exactly little potholes, I could fit in one of them. Skyler spotted someone in the bushes, and frankly, their hair was what gave them away, which was curly and brown enough to be... well, spotted.

Cautiously, Skyler steps closer, and there's a bit of rustling from the same bush, and it seemed to be a second person, but I'm not sure. This bush sure serves as good cover. Deciding to question them, Skyler asks a bit sternly, "Who are you? Did you cause this?"

The guy squeaks a bit, lunging out-  assuming that he's attempting to capture Skyler or something- but falls face-first, his right foot caught on a branch. The bush probably did us a favor there, or maybe not.

He began to squirm, and we both stood back, unaware of what he could do.  Trying again, Skyler adds, "We're not going to hurt, you, we just want to kn-" He whines loudly, looking back into the bush. "They found us! You told me they wouldn't!" Jeez. I should call him a kid instead.

The other started to speak, a girl. "Yeah, well, you should've gotten further in the bush! You know your hair's noticeable!" "But the dirt and bugs are icky! I would never do such a thing, Aneya!" "You're in the dirt right now, Zac." As if he had just noticed, Zac squeals, squirming up to his feet, wiping as much as he could off his clothes.

I decide to do the asking this time, since Skyler looked a little... stunned. "Hey! Kid! Who are you?" Zac, what his name is apparently, jumps a bit at my call to him, and looks back at the girl, who's named Aneya. Cool name, honestly speaking. It seems she's the one in charge, too, so I let her do the speaking instead. "We're just students, yeah? Not killers, or hunters, or anything. Although I think Zac here almost got your partners killed... sorry about that."

Zac seemed to fuss again, shaking his head with his arms tightly crossed on his chest. "Did not! I was trying to control it, I told you!" Aneya scoffs, dismissing his comment, redirecting her attention to me. "Anyway, yeah, sorry about... this." She huffs out a sigh, and the others seemed to muster some courage, coming closer to the pair.

We don't know who these guys are, but from the looks of things...

They could help us out.
