"Emergency! Emergency! All paws on deck ASAP!"
The speakers on top of the Headquarters Tower were blaring an alarm that only we cats could hear. I dashed outside, tore across the yard, blasted through the Grapevine Gateway, and sprinted through the forest. I kept running in the direction of Headquarters, which wasn't very far away in case of emergency.
I finally reached the entrance, meeting Tom and Fluffy there. "What do you think is happening?" Tom panted. "I don't know," admitted Fluffy, "but I hope it's another adventure to go on!"
"Yeah, me too," I whispered as the doors swung open and Commander Jingles motioned for us to come inside. Commander Jingles led us up a big elevator, and eventually we were back in the main room of the FHS Headquarters. "Alright, fellow members of the Feline Hero Squad, we've got an emergency on our paws. As you might have noticed," he added jokingly, pointing to the flashing red screens.
On the big screen, what looked like a live camera feed of a pirate ship sailing on the ocean was shown. I was already getting excited, then I looked to the left at one of the smaller screens. I saw a online article describing the qualities of a "beautiful island fit for a family vacation" scrolling on and on. Below that screen was a map of an island we'd called "Meowi" after last week's visit to the Ancient Meowian Village. The AMV was famous for its rare artifact- the Golden Yarnball. It's what keeps the village alive and going.
But at the same time, why would a band of power-crazed pirates want to ruin some villagers' lives? For the sake of a yarnball that powers the ENTIRE VILLAGE?
You know what, that makes more sense out loud. I can see why they'd wanna do that.
Commander Jingles pressed a button, and the big screen zoomed in on the ship. There was a big black-and-white cat with only one functioning eye pointing a sword up at the sun as the ship sailed onward.
"Commander Jingles, who's that?" Fluffy asked.
"That's Captain One-Eyed James, captain of the Blind Bats pirate crew. He's raided 16 towns and counting, and he's after the Golden Yarnball, based on where he's going."
Captain One-Eyed James? Ha!
Does he know who he's up against?
Maybe not. I'll let him know-
