It turned out Daisy had Writer's Craft with us, and we totally left her behind, forgetting to check her schedule. She walked in a few seconds after us, and headed over to our desks. "Alpha Alex," she nodded, her expression guarded.

Alex waved his hand in front of his face. "Alex is fine, we're the same age, plus I'm not your Alpha." She nodded, a smile appearing on her face. There was that cute dimple again. She sat down on my left again, Alex in the right corner. He had a thing for corners, that's usually where he sat, with me on the other side.

Our teacher walked in after a few minutes, carrying the largest mug of coffee I've ever seen. I laughed a bit to Alex, joking about how long her heart was going to last. They didn't notice the other students ignoring them, or Daisy looking at them with a thoughtful look on her face.

"Alright guys," Ms. Erickson started. "You know the assignment, a romantic plot twist. No more than four per group." I raised my hand. "Yes, Cal?"

"Daisy is new," I explained, gesturing towards her. "Could she join Alex and I on this project?"

"Sure," she said sitting at her desk and opening up her computer. "Go wild."

I turned and grinned at Daisy and she grinned back. We turned our desks so they faced each other, and Alex pulled out his notebook. Out of the two of us, his handwriting is the best. Mine is barely legible.

"So," Daisy said, "a romantic plot twist?"

"Yeah," I answered for the two of us, Alex busy setting up the page. We recently had a lecture about romantic themed books, and how they're usually the same outline. Ms. Erickson wanted up to create a short story with a romantic plot line you don't see coming until it happens. It's also right after our second report card, none of the English courses assignments are very heavy.

She nodded. "Do you guys have an idea yet?"

I blushed. "Usually if it's just the two of us we leave until later, but now that you're in our group we'll be starting it now. Did you have an idea?"

"Not exactly," she fiddled with her fingers. "but maybe it could be a group of friends? That way it's hard to tell if the affection is platonic or romantic."

Alex snapped his fingers. "That's a great idea. Two girls and a guy. The guy likes one of the girls, but she likes the other girl. Girls compliment each other more and are way more affectionate with each other. Plus we don't have to say that the girl doesn't like the guy back."

I hopped on the idea. "What about the second girl and the guy used to date, like years ago, so they use their old nicknames and stuff."

Daisy started bouncing up and down. "This is such a good idea!"

We all grinned at each other, and Alex began to write. Who doesn't love a classic story about lesbians? Jo needs to read this.

___

Jo loved the idea. Alex told her about it on the bus ride home, Daisy and I were sharing music. The more time I spent with Daisy the cooler I realised she was. She had the pastel aesthetic, seeming soft on the outside, but had very strong opinions. She looked like the type of girl that would almost fade into the background in class but she was very vocal. I thought she was so cool. Jo, Alice and Brandon warmed right up to her too. Alex is still a little wary, but he's always like that with new people.

When we got back to the pack the six of us went up to Alex's room to do homework. Being the Alpha, he had the largest room. He can comfortably fit his queen bed, two three seat couches and a coffee table in his room; so it was one of our regular hangouts. We dumped our bags on the floor and flopped around the room. Daisy sat on the couch opposite me, Alice and Joanne took over Alex's bed, Brandon sat next to Daisy striking up a conversation. Alex closed the door behind us all then came over and flopped on top of me.
