(Yes, like the song. I had a sudden urge and inspiration to write, so here I am. This one shot is in similarity with the last chapter, with male reader and Tony, where they're physically separated but missing each other too much to stay that way for long. Enjoy!)

New York, 10:54AM.

Tokoyo, 9:45PM.

Tony paced back and forth, glancing between the machine in front of him and the cellphone to his side.

"I'll be back before you know it. Call if you need anything darling."

He sighed in defeat and picked up the phone, pressing only a few buttons before he was holding the device up to his ear, listening to the ringing taunt him.

What was he doing? (Y/N) was fine, he can take care of himse-

"Hello?"

He sounded exhausted, voice low as if he had just woken up. The older man pushed the thought away, a part of his chest exploding at the sound of his simple one word.

"(Y/N)? It's me Tony, sorry if I woke you up," he heard the sound of shuffling and instantly the younger man's tone reached up the octave excitedly.

"Hey! No no, it's okay darlin', just napping that's all."

"At 9pm?"

"When else are you supposed to nap? I have work to finish."

Tony snickered, smiling. He could nearly hear him smile back, missing the sight of his stupid perfect teeth and grin. His heart did flips at the visualization, losing track of what he was calling about until he cut himself off.

"Hey listen, do you have plans tonight?" There was a pause.

"No, why? I'm in Tokyo, Tony. You have work to do today too and-"

"Yeah, yeah, I know. But I was thinking  I can could fly to your hotel 'cause I..." He drifted off, unsure of how to finish the sentence.

He glanced around the room, suddenly growing nervous and began pacing once more.

"Cause  what, Tony?"

A built up pressure in his chest hammered on his ribs to escape, and when it did, it was all at once covered with embarrassment.

"Because I can't get you off my mind- Jesus- it's awful. And it'll only be a couple hours till I'm there and if you don't anwser quick, I'm already on my way."

For the first time in a while, Tony's confidence went out the window, shaking as a long pause of silence stretched across the room and into infinite space. It was a slow death until he heard a small laugh coming from the latter, and his cheeks heated up to a pink color.

"Why are you laughing? I'm serious," He said, voice soft and grumbly as he sat on a table, blinking and looking down to the floor. He hasn't noticed Pepper walking towards the door, listening and watching his eyes dart around the room and smile shyly to himself.

"I know- I know you are. I miss you too Tony," (Y/N) took a breath, exhaling deeply. "If you want, I'll be here waiting. Just come quick before I decide to go back to sleep." He said with a snicker.

"Do I have to convince you not to fall asleep?" He joked back, standing again and looking towards the door, pausing as he saw Pepper looking straight back at him. His smile fell slightly, and the thought of suddenly canceling crossed his mind, but he stood strong and leaned into the phone.

"I'll see you soon darlin'."

"I'll see you too babe. Bye,"

Tony hung up and looked down at his phone before walking towards Pepper, then past her.

"Where are you going?" She asked, face full of confusion and shock. "You have work to do!"

"Sorry Peps, got a flight to catch. Need to get lost in Japan." He retaliated, walking up a small flight of stairs before quickly making his way to an elevator.

He changed and was instantly in a car zooming to the nearest airport, and from there flying over the ocean to reach the large island.

Tony knocked on a door, flowers behind his back and waiting nervously as the sound of feet grew louder as they neared the door. His breath left his lungs as he was greeted by (Y/N)'s face, large sweater over a pair of simple black briefs, and big (E/C) eyes. He smiled as he held the flowers out, feeling like a shy child.

"You got my favorite," (Y/N) mused, looking from the soft petals up to the older man. He smiled and leaned up, wrapping his arms around his neck and pulling him close after taking the bouquet into his hand.

The warm feeling in his stomach was replaced by laughter as he was lifted up and carried into his room, the door shutting behind him and then speedily locked.
