How I smiled when you said my name
The way I giggled that day at the ball game
You always knew how to be perfect
You made years of wasted love worth it
Amazing as you are
You made a rainbow of a scar
Through all the smiles
That you made worth while
You were only a dream
Who'd never want little ole me
Never to be mine
I kissed Prince Charming goodbye
How I grinnned when you smiled at me
The way I laughed when I was put on your team
You always knew how to be wonderful
You made years of wasted admiration seem graceful
Fantastic as you are
You made love feel too far
Through all the smiles
That you made worth while
You were only a dream
Who'd never love me
Never to know why
I kissed Prince Charming goodbye
How I adored loving you
The way I admired you, too
Add that to the list of things that no longer matter
The list of things that can only get fatter
How I smiled when you said my name
The way I nervously giggled when I realized things would never be the same
Amazing as you are
Tell me, who else could reach the bar
That you lovingly set so high?
Who wouldn't make me sorry
That I kissed Prince Charming goodbye?
Through all the smiles
That you made worth while
You're still only a dream
Someone who'll never love me
Never to lie
I kissed Prince Charming goodbye
Although perfect
My tears were well worth it
Amazing as you'll ever be
I have to think about me.
So down the road, when my husband asks me why
I'll tell him it was for true love
That I kissed Prince Charming goodbye
