In the dorm of Carlos and Jay, Carlos typed away on his computer for his own personal information. How to get out of the friend zone.
"...They dined with Aladdin and Jasmine." Carlos heard from the tv, but didn't put any mind to it. He caught Dude looking over as well from his doggie bed.
"I see you reading over my shoulder." Carlos said to Dude.
"Six months ago, no one thought..." Carlos jumped when Mal bursting in through the door to get away from reporters. Mal locked the door and paced around the room. Her eyes landing on the tv where she caught the site of she and Cori together and eating strawberries. "...the wrong side of the bridge would last. Mal must be counting the days until the Royal Cotillion, when she will officially become a Lady of the Court."
Mal hastily shut the tv off. As stress built up more and more inside her, she felt a surge of uncontrollable power running through her. Her eyes glowed bright green, just like it had done earlier that day.
"Whoa. Easy, girl." Carlos said softly. Mal looks down at him with an angry look.
"What? You think this is so easy?! You don't have people taking a photo of you every single time you open your mouth to say boo! I mean, it's not that I could even say, "Boo," but, you know what I--" Mal yells at Carlos. Carlos looked back down at the computer.
"I'm sorry." He muttered.
"Carlos, don't you ever miss screaming at people and just making them run away from you?" Mal asked suddenly. Carlos looks up and let out a brief chuckle.
"You're thinking of my mother, and I was usually on the other end of that. So, not really. No." Carlos answered. Mal shook her head, should have known what Carlos was going to answer. Carlos only looked back at his computer for a second before realizing, "Oh, hey! Did you bring it?"
Mal looked down at her hand to show Carlos, but they were interrupted. Chad slowly walked in, not noticing Carlos or Mal inside. He closed the door quietly and made a noise of victory. Turning around, he saw Mal and Carlos and froze on the spot.
"Hi." Chad waved. "Just came to use your 3D printer. Won't be a sec."
"How'd you get a key to my room?" Carlos questioned.
"Oh, I printed it off last time I was in here. Uh... you guys were sleeping." Chad saw the unpleasant look on Carlos' face and gave in to telling the truth. "Look, I just-- Your printer's so much better than mine, and you install these hacks and everything runs so much smoother than mine and--"
"Out! Now." Carlos ordered, pointing out the door.
"Fine. Fine." Chad huffed.
"Chad!" Carlos called back. Chad turned around, annoyed.
"What? Hmm?"
"Leave the key." Chad slammed the key onto the table and stormed out of the room. Carlos looked back at Mal. "He has to have been adopted, right? I don't see how he and Cori can be related." Carlos talked to himself. "Mal?"
"Hmm?"
"My potion?"
"Hmm. Yeah. Um..." Mal finally showed the truth gummy for Carlos.
"So, this thing will make me say what I really feel to Jane?" Carlos asked hopefully.
"Yeah. I mean, this is a truth gummy, so take it or leave it." Mal said.
"Perfect." Before Carlos could take it, Mal pulled it back.
"Hold on, though. Are you sure that you want to be taking this? Because this is gonna make you say the truth all the time, no matter what, and the only reason that I'm asking is because I know that if I took this right now, I would get myself sent back to the Isle. Which, it's not that that sounds super unappealing, but, you know..." Mal ranted on with warnings.
"Yeah. I'll take my chances, I guess." Carlos assured Mal. Before Mal could hand the gummy over, it was suddenly snatched from her hand.
"Ohh! Bad dog!"
Dude jumped back onto the bed and looked at Mal.
"Man, that thing was nasty!" Dude talked. He looks at Carlos. "And you-- you just got to man up. And while you're at it, scratch my butt." Carlos and Mal stood there shocked by it.
"You heard him. Scratch his butt." Mal said, before quickly leaving to prepare for her date.
"Mal. You're just gonna leave me with him?" Carlos called, but Mal was long gone.
"Come on. You scratch your own all the time." Dude complained.
