part ten

"hello?" I answered the call, I stood in the hallway to my apartment, Colby was asleep "hi, your back?"

"yeah" I replied "well would you like to come over, I missed you" I felt bad "I can't.. sorry" I heard the confusion in his voice as he said "why?" I knew I had to tell him I had a boyfriend, it was now or never "Colby is here.."

"What?!" He asked me "why?!" I gulped before I told him that we were dating "are you kidding?!" He asked me "I mean we kissed, we said I love you and your with him.. why?" I swallowed the tears "I'm sorry, this trip brought us back together"

He hung up. I stood there upset, angry at myself. I wiped the one tear that fell down my cheek and stumbled back to my apartment.

When I went to my room, Colby was awake "where'd you go?" He held out his arms for me, I climbed between them "I had a phone call"

"This late? Who was it?" He asked curious "Uh, David" I hesitated, he sat up to look at me "what did he say?" I decided to be honest with him, he was my boyfriend, I explained exactly what happened "is it me or him?" He asked me when I finished explaining.

"It's you" I told him, he shook his head in disbelief "Colby? It's you?" I asked almost like a question.

"It's him" he said, I kept quiet and listened to him "you deep down want to choose him, goodbye B" he got up and grabbed his stuff "Colby? Are we still friends?" He ran his hand through his hair and told me "I can't, I'm sorry" and he ran out the door.

I slid down the wall, crying my eyes out. I called David "David?" I cried, his voice when he replied sounded groggy "Hello.. Blake, are you okay? What did Colby do?"

"We broke up" I told him "I'm on my way" he hung up, I sat there and waited for him. I just wanted David.
