Tragedy

TWO MONTHS LATER

Katherine Swan's POV

Not even a fucking week of being back in this fucking town and I got dragged into shit!

Well, it's been 2 months since I've left Forks. A LOT has happened.

I got bombshell dropped on me an hour ago.

What bombshell?

This one.

I'm at the Mikaelson mansion, at Klaus' request to speak to me.

The whole family was here. I'm completely confused.

"This isn't easy for me to say.." Klaus says.

"Just say it." I say.

He sighs. Then looks into my eyes.

"Katherine, you are not who you think you are." He says.

"What?" I ask.

"You are not... Katherine Octavia Swan... you are Octavia Katherine Artemis Hecate Athena.. Mikaelson." Klaus says.

I shake my head.

"No... even if I was, how would you know that?" I ask.

"Because I am your biological father." Klaus says.

"No. No! My father is Charlie Swan, my mother is Renee Dwyer, and my twin sister is Isabella Marie Swan!" I say.

"No, Octavia. You are a Mikaelson." Klaus says.

"Prove it!" I yell, tears streaming down my face.

Elijah hands me papers and I look them over. Time stamped papers, a birth certificate. Same date as my current.

A note.

'Protect my daughter. Show her the love and adoration she deserves. I cannot protect her from the long list of enemies I've made. I know you're a police officer. Protect her with your life. -Klaus'

A picture of me in a carrier. An infant. On the doorstep of my home in Forks.

Oh my god.

I shake my head.

"I couldn't condemn you to this life. But you were dragged into it." Klaus says.

I take a huge gulp of the red wine.

"Why did you do the things you've done? Knowing that I'm your daughter?" I ask.

"I needed you to hate me. I didn't see the bigger picture. Now I do. I have a child. You. I need you in my life." Klaus says.

"How did you even know it was me?" I ask.

"You look so much like your mother. You have her eyes and hair color. Her skin tone. Her attitude. When I saw you with the Salvatore brothers and Elena Gilbert... I was shocked. You've grown so much. I sent you a gift on your 18th birthday." Klaus says.

"Was it the daylight ring?" I ask.

"No. That was from your uncles and aunt. My gift to you... is around your neck. It was your mother's necklace. I made it for her. Now it is yours." He says.
