Disclaimer: This is not a suicide story! You're not in the hospital due to suicide. It does seem like it with a few things Ken says, but I promise it's not.

Kenny's POV -
I watch as (y/n) lays on the hospital bed. My poor baby. The doctor says they'll be fine, but they scared me none the less. I sat next to their bed as they slept, I played with their hair then leaned over and kissed their forehead. Their leg is broken and arm is fractured, I'm surprised but happy the damage isn't more.

...I should have known something wasn't right.

- 6 hours before the inncident -

10:29am
(Y/n) is running around their backyard with their dog Sasha. I sat in the lawn chair with iced lemonade in hand. I love them both so much, they're goofs.

It's the middle of summer, both of our families are out of town. (Y/n) is an only child, Karen is staying at her friends while their gone, so my parents sent me to stay with (y/n). Our parents went on a vacation together to get away from us kids, our families have always been close.

"Come play Kenny!" (Y/n) shouted from across the yard, waving at me, Sasha barking to get me to play. I shook my head, "It's too hot for me to play, why do you think I'm in the shade?" I asked them, taking a sip of my drink. "Not fair babe! Take off your parka!" (Y/n) suggested, sticking their tongue out. I put my drink on the table next to me, got up then took off my parka, placing it on the seat I had just left.

... I should have known.

12:35pm
(Y/n) and I were talking in the kitchen as they made us food, and Sasha her lunch. I was on the kitchen counter, (y/n) running around the kitchen. They drop a plate in front of me and leans down to pick it up.

"I know I'm a princess, but you don't need to bow down to me" I announced, pretending to flip my hair. (Y/n) scoffs, "Sorry princess Kenny" they stated and continued to pick up their mess. "Damn right I'm princess Kenny " I was trying to get them to laugh... it wasn't fully working.

... How could I not tell?

- 2 hours before the inncident -

2:16pm
(Y/n) told me they didn't feel well so they went up to their room to take a nap. Sasha and I sat on the couch and watched The Walking Dead, it's one of my favourites, plus nothing else was on, it's a new show.

We're going on a walk after (y/n) wakes up. Maybe the fresh air will make them feel better.

After almost a full episode I heared a thud come from upstairs. I ran up to (y/n)'s room to make sure their okay. I knocked on the door, (y/n) opened the door to then explain they rolled off the bed. But (y/n) sleeps next to the wall, and rarely moves in their sleep. I let it go and went back to the show to let them sleep.

...It's my fault.

- Minutes before the inncident -

4:25pm
(Y/n) and I walked down the street, we had no destination. They felt mostly better after their nap, so we were able to go on our walk.

They seemed distant, not very responsive, like they can't hear.

I held their hand as we walk down the sidewalk next to the park. As we got to the crosswalk they let go of my hand to take their jacket off. I immediately missed the warmth of their hand in my mine. They started to cross, "Babe it doesn't say cross yet" I explained to them. They were looking down, putting the jacket on their waist. They didn't hear me.

"(Y/n) come back now please". They were walking slow, and again couldn't hear me. I thought they were playing with me so I didn't try to grab them. I saw a sudden light to my left, it was a car. "(Y/n) move!" I shouted hoping they'd hear, no realizing this isnt a joke. I ran to grab them... it was too late. They hadn't heard my yelling. The drunk driver didn't see them and was driving too fast.

... Why couldn't I tell.

- 1 hour after the inncident -

5:48pm
I called both of our families, but they have no way back. (Y/n) is stable, but hasn't woken up since they were hit. The nurses and doctors said I'm welcome to stay with her over night since our families aren't here. I called Kyle and had him take Sasha to his place to make sure she's taken care of. Shortly after Kyle, Stan, and Cartman enter the hospital room. "How are they?" Stan asks, walking over to the side of the bed. "Stable. I'm hoping they wake soon" I explained looking down at (y/n). Cartman walks over beside me and rubs my back. He's grownup and matured a lot since elementary.

... They'll be okay.

- 3 hours after the inncident -

7:37pm
My head is laying on the bed next to (y/n), I fell asleep, my hand laying on top of theirs. I wake up suddenly from movement. I look up and see they're awake. I start to tear up and hug them. I let go shortly after and see they're slightly confused.

"We're in the hospital, you were hit by a drunk driver." I explained As I saw on their face their memory came back of what happened. "Why didn't you stop me?" (Y/n) asked looking up at me. "I tried. You werent listening. I thought you were joking around, when I realized you weren't it was too late." I answered.

They came to explain they were out of it and couldn't hear. They started playing with their IV, they're always moving, unless asleep. It's cute. "Stop messing with your IV" I chuckle, they stop and smile at me. "I'm glad you're okay" I say, kissing their forehead again. "I am too"

... It's okay.
