The next morning, I was woken up by by some old lady with what sounded like an asian accent.
"Sol, we need to take your blood."
I groaned. "What time is it?"
"It is 6:30"
6:30!! Who wakes up at 6:30. I'm still tired after waking up at 11:30. When I think about it, I'm pretty sure that's from my malnutrition. Anyways, I stumbled out of bed, still weak from last night.
We walked down some halls for a while. Damn, this place is bigger than it seems. Once, we got to the room with the equipment, someone else was there. He was sort, had jet black hair ruffled sorry hair, grey jeans, black turtleneck (it's summer for gogs sake), and a necklace with the zodiac sign for cancer on it. He sat down on the chair next to the nurse with the needle.
"Karkat Vantas da? "
"Yeah, but don't call me by my full name, its uncomfortable"
The lady tilted her head confused. "Oh, I am very sorry" He rolled his eyes and extended his arm. My eyes drifted to his arm. The sleeve was pulled up and his arm was covered in deep cuts and scars.
I tried my best not to gasp in surprise. I wonder what had happened to him. Once, the lady had finished with him, it was my turn.
"You're new here. What is your name child? "
I gulped "Sollux Captor". She raised an eyebrow.
"You are the new kid? Well, welcome. "
"Um... Thank you." I hate this place. This is for my own good though. The needle digs into my skin, taking the liquid I need to survive away from me, painfully. I don't want the nurse to know that though.
"There, you are done. Now run along to get your eats for breakfast."
"But... I don't know where the cafeteria is."
She raised an eyebrow once again. "Honey, that is not my problem. Run along now, there are people waiting." I looked behind me to see about 3 teens waiting. I turned and walked away towards the maze of hallways.
The aisles seem so vacant , maybe even haunted. It felt alot like home. Just me walking on a lonely road lost as ever. I thought this place was supposed to help me with my issues, not remind me why I have them.
"Ugh, why am I such a failure?"
There was a giggling from around the corner. I stopped dead in my tracks. "Well, thats not a furry nice thing to say about yourself."
It was a girl. I made a fool of myself in front of a girl. Why do these things onky happen to me? Anyway, she had large green eyes, with just a hint of blue, short dark brown curly locks fitted with a beanie suited with cat ears, while also wearing a white tank top with an image of a green cat face, cameo flats, and dark green leggings.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I furighten you?"
"A bit, yes."
She frowned innocently. "AC deeply apologizes fur whatever negative things she has brought upon you." I tilt my head for a sec.
"No, no, AC is good. She has brought nothing bad. In fact she has brought good things."
She perked up at hearing that. Then, I noticed her shoulder tick and she rolled her neck. "Hehe. I am furry glad to hear that. Oh, and befur I furget, let me introduce myself. I am Nepeta Leijon. I am the most bubbly and cat-like purson you will probably efur meet. Well, now that you know who I am, how about we hear furom you?"
Wow, she really knows how to make first impressions. "It is very nice to meet you AC. Let me just say that"
"If you want you can just call me Nepeta."
I slightly smile. "Well, Nepeta, I am Sollux Captor. By what has happened so far, I am the most boring person you will meet." She starts clapping.
"That was gureat. More pizazz next time though." She winks at me. Her arm folds in, out , and in again.
"Sorry to ask, but what have you got going on there?" Her eyes drift down to where I was pointing. Suddenly her feline eyes widen.
"Oh, um that's just a weird tick that I have. It's a type of OCD."
"I thought OCD was for the cleaning obssesed people." Nepeta jokingly pushes me.
"Hm, you are so silly. There is more than just one meaning fur OCD."
"Really?" She nods. I see her looking straight at me, but somehow looking directly behind me. An open door showed the other patients eating.
"AC believes it is time fur us to eat." Without a doubt, she was very right. She seemed nervous, almost scared. Maybe it was a part of her OCD. Whatever it is, it's bothering her.
"So....", I muttered getting her attention. All of her attention is now on me. "I should get going. I bet you have friendd in there who are waiting for you."
"I do, purrhaps you would like to join us? This coukd be your chance to meet the others." I take a glance inside, then back at her.
"I'm sorry, but I dont eat much and it would be such a shame to see that food go to waste."
She frowned for a sec then brightened up. "I understand. Well, I will see you in a while." She skipped, well kinda, inside. I then decided to go back to my room so I could get some more rest. I was still tired shitless.
