Chapter V: Moving Out

I slept until 8pm. The world was dark and quiet. 

I rolled over to check my phone. 

*1 new message*

8:00 pm - Lucian : Good morning my sweet.

I smiled from ear to ear. I hadn't forgotten about my mysterious prince. I had actually replayed the night before in my mind over and over as I slept. The good and the bad. 

How did you know I just woke up ? : Ophelia - 8:02 pm 

8:03 pm - Lucian: Even though it isn't very strong, our mate bond still connects us, O. So I just woke up as well. 

That made sense. 

Oh, okay. Meet me in the west garden in 30? : Ophelia - 8:04 pm

8:05pm - Lucian: Of course love. See you.

I could have rung for a maid to help me get ready, but I opted out and decided to be alone for awhile. Turning on the shower, I got undressed and stepped in. The warm water moved across my skin. It was nice but I was just itching to see Lucian so I hurriedly rinsed and got out. 

Going to my closet, I picked out some white undergarments and a loose baby pink dress. 

Brushing out my hair, I kept it down to dry in its natural curls, then I headed out to the garden. 

Lucian was sitting under the pavilion surrounded by fairy lights and flowers. He looked like he was deep in thought, and I didn't want to bother him, so I walked up behind him quietly. He looked up, and then is eyes met mine and a smile spread across his face. 

He held his hand out to me and I took it, sitting down next to him. 

" You look beautiful tonight." He said. 

" Thank you Lucian! How did you sleep?" I asked him. 

Lucian shook his head solemnly, " Not very well. I kept thinking about what happened last night. I am very upset that I've put you in danger."

" I am a strong person Lucian. You don't have to worry about me. We need to figure out who is hunting you and put an end to this. You've spent your whole life hiding because of these people and enough is enough." I squeezed his hand and looked into his eyes. "We will figure this out together. They will realize that we are an immovable force to be reckoned with. First though, we need to figure out what to do about the move." I smiled at Lucian and he to me. 

" You're right Ophelia." He kissed my hand. " So the fortress my parents mentioned is in Welllea, directly in between our two kingdoms as said before. It needs a few updates, but it is well stocked and protected. It is not as large as this castle, but it is has about 30 rooms, a staff kitchen, a family kitchen, and multiple gathering rooms. There are also many barracks adjacent to it so that the soldiers that we take with us will have places to live. "

I nodded. " It sounds nice. As long as we are safe, that is all that matters." 

"Let's go talk to our parents then, yeah?" 

I agreed and waved Kellam over. He had followed me out to the garden, because father had ordered I not be let out of his sight after what happened last night. Asking him politely, he quickly agreed to bring our parents out to the garden, leaving another one of his guards to watch us. 

Soon after he returned with our parents.

" Have you decided?" Father asked when he walked out. I told him that I agreed  to it and I was ready to go. 

" Then I will get the servants to start preparing your things for the trip." Father replied. " I will send half a quarter of my military to join you two at the fortress. Do you have any to spare, Adrik?" father addressed the other King. 

" Yes, I do Vlad. I will also send a quarter of my military. As small as the place is, that should be more than enough protection for now." King Adrik replied.

Father answered with, " Sounds good. Ophelia, I am also sending Kellam as your personal guard, for he is my most trusted captain. Is there anyone else you would specifically like to come with you?" 

I thought about it and decided that I wanted Aisling and my personal maid, Lucinda. Aisling was the daughter of a Duke and Duchess who lived in the castle. That is how she became my best friend. 

After asking Aisling, she enthusiastically replied yes, and Aric, her mate, agreed. 

By 3:00 A.M. all of our things had been sent on their way to the fortress. At around 8:00 AM my mate, friends, Kellam, Lucinda, and I boarded the jet and set off to our new home. They already had servants that worked there, and the military set off around the same time our things were sent, that way they would arrive before we got there. We had waited so late to set off because royals could with stand the sunlight longer than regular vampires, so that was a veil of protection that added onto our trip. 

We arrived at the Welllea airport 6 hours later. There, 2 sleek, black Bentleys met us. The drivers drove us for 30 minutes through forests of Birch. Then, the road we were on ended. In front of us stood a wall that had to be at least 3 hundred meters tall. The giant gateway opened with a creak, and let our vehicles through. 

I can only describe the building that we drove up to as being like a giant gothic castle. There were sharp spires, giant hand-crafted window pieces, and beautiful pointed arches. 

I stared at it in awe as the car door was opened for Lucian and I by our driver, Andrei. 

Lucian took my hand and lead the way to our new home.
