(H E A D S U P ! Some readers may find part of this chapter a little awkward since this movie was kinda PG. Sorry if this was a little dragged out)
{Author's POV}
Sophia held a firm grip on the handle of her sword, which was surprisingly finely edged, as if it were brand new. Slightly concerning, but she pushed the thoughts down, deciding to focus more of where she was walking.
"Isn't this great? A thousand year old tale, and we're on the very trail to it right now!" Miguel said zealously as he made a clear path through the jungle, much to Sophia's amusement, although Tulio mostly remained unimpressed.
"Honestly, I kinda forgot about the whole 'El Dorado' thing in the first 5 minutes after we got away from those guards." Sophia commented, watching as the sunlight reflected off the blade in her hand. "I'm just coming along to keep you guys from walking into a bear trap or something."
Tulio caught up to Sophia and Miguel. "Oh come on Sophia, Miguel and I are adults. We're perfectly capable of defending our se-" Tulio started, before said girl's blade flew right in front of his and Miguel's torsos, stopping them dead in their tracks.
Looking down, they saw a large, green snake with small white splotches along it's body was lying only a few steps away, making Miguel quickly back off as Sophia slowly stepped forward.
Slowly kneeling down towards the resting snake, she slipped her sword's blade underneath the reptile, careful not to injure them, before slowly and carefully relocating them away from the walk way. After being set down, the snake slithered their merry away into the forest.
"Okay, now we're good." Sophia established before continuing on, Tulio and Miguel seeming slightly stunned, before following close behind her.
"Sophia, I think we should talk more!" Miguel called out as they continued on.

As the three compadres traveled on, Sophia couldn't help but notice a small armadillo following them around. Not that it was an issue, she already liked them.
Once at a stopping point, Tulio slipped one of his shoes back on, leaning on the tree stump and Sophia was sitting on, as Miguel attempted to ride Altivo through the woods, but only came back a minute later.
Realizing that Miguel had gone in a circle, Tulio rolled his eyes and took the map from his partner's hands, turning it right-side-up.
Miguel road off again, and the armadillo showed up again, hopping into Sophia's lap. "Hello." she greeted sweetly and gently started petting the small creature on their back.
The armadillo chittered calmly, before noticing Tulio and sniffing the towards him and looking at him.
"What are you looking at?" Tulio asked the small creature with his hands on his hips.
The armadillo chittered, before hopping off Sophia's lap and scurrying off.
She and Tulio watched as he left, curiosity painted on both their faces. But the moment was cut short when Miguel came back and swooped the two onto the horse, Sophia behind Miguel and Tulio, who was facing backwards, behind her.
Miguel noticed this, and grabbed Tulio by the back of his shirt and turned him around as they rode through the thick jungle.

The sun had gone down, and the stars had already begun to appear in the sky, along with the moon, casting light down on the trio as they stood beneath a stone wall.
