corbyn sat on the bed and jonah held jack in his arms. sidney and esther were talking. a small hand was soon placed on his shoulder and he turned. the golden girl floated beside him.

"ashley..." he hugged his sister and cried into her neck.

"i missed you, corb."

"i missed you too, ash." he pulled back and looked into her bright eyes. her white horns contrasted his own black ones. her white tail wrapped around his wrist.

"she looks different than me." esther said.

"because she doesn't have wings and you don't have horns."

"why is that?" esther asked as she eyed the girl.

"my mother was demjin, father was a milyaket. she became human and lived with the family she was with. i did too, but i died..." corbyn trailed off.

"oh..." jonah comforted his curly haired friend. ashley smiled and kiss her brothers cheek.

"i must go, brother. mother and father are calling me."

"goodbye, ash." he hugged her tight and kissed her forehead.

"goodbye, corb. i'll return later to check in and spend time, okay?" she cupped his cheeks and he nodded with a sad smile. she pecked his lips before flying off.

he wiped a tear and turned back to sidney, jack, jonah, carrie, and esther. esther was talking to her mother while sidney was comforting jack.

"daniel?" he asked and he appeared.

"i saw zach." i turned to him.

"yo-you did?" he nodded. "we-well?"

"he's not doing good. apparently after his death they had confused him."

"how?" corbyn looked at daniel.

"come see for yourself." he got up and jonah watched him leave. daniel brought corbyn to the place where all demjins meet. there he saw him.

"zach..." the boy had white horns, black wings, and a white tail. he looked up at the mention of his name and then got up. he rushed over and hugged corbyn.

"hey hey hey. i got you."

"c-corbyn, the-they all hate me." zach whimpered and corbyn shook his head.

"but this is you now, z. you are perfect like this too. absolutely perfect." corbyn kissed his forehead and zach smiled.

"thank you, corb."

"you're welcome, z. now i have to get back somewhere, but it was great seeing you, z."

"it was great seeing you too, bean. i'll see you later." zach kissed his cheek before going back to his spot. corbyn turned to daniel.

"he is absolutely beautiful." was all he said before disappearing.
