The crowd roars and I look to them, a handful of curly lion's mane clenched between my fingers. I gape in stunned awe. Gaps in the walls leaking the light of a setting sun into my eyes, reflecting off the metals on the cloaks of the noblemen watching.
Watching and cheering like its a good show, like its a game.
A raven takes flight from the lipped edge of the amphitheatre wall. The sun sets fully. I have taken too long, and the crowd has gone silent. Disappointed in my hesitation. My right hand falls heavy, sword now holding a new weight to it.
I look to the man who gives me the orders.
Thumb down.
The crowd roars once more, and, determined not to displease them again, I look to the face of the one I'm dragging by the hair.
I look down to see my own bloodied and beaten self.
My worst nemesis.
