"i dunno," josh laughed softly as he leaned against the counter. he had come to visit dallon since it was his and ryan's day off. "you want me to be little for the whole day with ry?" he questioned softly, picking at his shirt.
dallon nodded, pushing up his glasses slightly before looking back down at the sheet of paper with the flower orders on it. "i'm new to this, but i did some research of my own and i wanna try it out. i dunno anyone else into this sorta thing and i'm really interested."
the dancer hummed, taking in dallon's words. his mouth opened to answer, but dallon cut him off.
"ryan was really well behaved," dallon started, glancing up for a moment to look at joshua. "and there's brats too, i'm not sure if i could handle them though."
josh laughed softly, "me an' ry aren't brats, no. you should've seen our old friend brendon. he was a handful."
that caught dallon's attention as he looked up. "old friend?" he repeated, setting his pen down.
"mhm," josh nodded. "him and his mommy moved away so we don't really get to see them much, but tantrum as least twice a day. only time when he was good was in a baby headspace."
dallon paused, before looking down at the sheet again. "how old is your headspace?" he asked.
"honestly," josh thought for a moment. "pretty small, i usually go into a really small headspace but that's a lot of work for ry so i try and stay clear."
"and what about ryan? how old is he?"
"he's not too small," joshua nodded. "around three or four. sometimes five. he likes baby things though, like the crib and bottles. not a big fan of diapers, only at bedtime."
"what about you?" dallon asked. "do you like?.."
"diapers?" josh finished for him. "well i guess, i wear them a lot but i wouldn't do anything that made you uncomfortable. this is about the three of us."
dallon nodded, smiling. he appreciated that josh was trying to make him as comfortable as possible.
"everyone's allowed to have a certain little age they like the most and you're a new daddy," josh said, "i wouldn't expect you to be comfortable with it as soon as you heard it."
"i'd like to try it out," dallon stated. "diapers, tantrums, whatever you and ry throw at me, i'll take it," he nodded with a proud grin.
josh laughed softly. "okay, i'll talk to ry about it. you can come to our place once your shift is over, dall."
"can't wait," dallon said, smiling widely.
ryan didn't need to be coaxed to let dallon take care of them for the day, he was even excited about it. joshua had his doubts but it wasn't like he didn't trust dallon– the boy was gentle, and thoughtful, and responsible, just as a caregiver should be. but he was nervous. he was scared he would do something he'd regret.. though, he couldn't think of a scenario where he'd let that happen in the first place.
josh cleaned up the house some more as they waited, ryan setting up some little activities as he did so. nothing incredibly interesting, mostly just stuffed animals and coloring books. he set out a simple puzzle box just in case dallon would be bored with coloring– it came together as hello kitty, so both littles enjoyed putting it together despite how boring puzzles could be.
from there joshua made snacks and got changed into a sweater and patterned socks. it was simple but he didn't want to possibly go overboard with anything. ryan wore a pleated skirt and one of josh's crop tops.
the two cuddled on the couch to watch tangled while they waited, a pacifier between each of their lips."ryry?" josh pulled the pacifier away for a moment.
the other boys response came as a distracted, "mm?"
josh nibbled hard on his lip in thought. "wha' if he doesn' like me?"
ryan frowned. "why wouldn' he?"
"dunno," josh said softly.
ryan was quiet for a moment. "wha' if he does like you an' he wan's to be our daddy?" his voice rose up as he got more excited, a slur in both their words.
a rosy blush coated josh's cheeks, "i dunno.. p'obably not."
"c'mon, joshie!" he whined. "he 'ikes yous."
joshua nodded slightly and picked at his sweater. he mumbled, "i hopes."
ryan giggled and kissed the other boys cheek, pushing the pacifier back in his mouth. "g'boy!"
josh grinned shyly, opening his mouth to say something but was cut short by the doorbell. ryan squealed, practically leaping off the couch to run to the door. the small boy pulled opened the door, immediately hugging dallon tightly.
"dally!" the little exclaimed, excitedly bouncing a bit. "i miss 'ou!" he giggled softly, pulling back to look at the dom.
dallon chuckled softly, wrapping his arms around ryan's waist to lift him up. it was a lot to take in at first, but the boy wouldn't complain. "where's joshie too? i got you guys gifts."
ryan pointed towards the couch where a nervous looking joshua waved shyly.
"well come here, little," dallon said. "i wanna hug you too." he smiled as he watched the other boy giggled and got up to hug him.dallon chuckled softly. "where's joshie to? i got you guys gifts."
dallon squeezed the two boys tight, grinning as soft squeaks and giggles filled up the room. the sound seemed to have a relaxing effect on the tallest.
"you two boys being good?" he asked.ryan nodded quickly. "joshie cleans up 'n i mades stuff for us!" he grinned.
dallon gasped. "did you really?!" he watched ryan nod sheepishly, eyes darting up to meet joshua's. "why don't you show me?"
ry's face held a peach pink tint to it as he nodded, practically dragging dallon towards the stairs to show him what he had prepared.

after ryan showed dallon around for about a half an hour, he agreed to settle down in the living room together. josh didn't protest the idea, he stayed pretty quiet the whole trip.
the three sat together on the couch, josh resting in dallon's lap and ryan on his side contently watching nemo. dallon was pretty invested with the hello kitty puzzle, and josh didn't have a problem with watching him find all the different pieces.
dallon nudged his glasses up with his head thumb. "you boys want dally to make lunch soon? then i'll show you all your presents." microwave dinners were a specialty in the weekes household.
with a kitten-like yawn, ry nodded.
"tired, little?"
ryan nodded once more, whining softly into dallon's sleeve.
"what about you, joshie? sleepy yet?"
the little shook his head, eyelids half shut.
dall grinned and cooed, standing up for a moment so he could lay him across the couch. he did the same with ryan, ignoring the whines of protest he received.
tucking the two in with the softly colored blankets folded across the couch. "i'm gonna make up some chicken nuggets, honey bees. why don't you get some rest and um.. daddy'll be right back," the name made his face tint an awkward shade of red. it wasn't a bad blush– not at all. it gave him butterflies to say, so it was welcome.
the two nodded tiredly, shifting closer out of habit. the action only made dallon smile more.
he checked over their blankets, making sure they were comfortable before he left the room, cheeks still rosy red.
