Chapter 3: A New Friend

       I was now walking down 53rd. St. The gun store was on Fairfield Dr. about four or five blocks from here. As I walked down the street I realized how dead this place had become. Family's used to live here still till up about 5 years ago but then our city was hit by the virus and made everyone into flesh eating zombies. My family was out at the time so it was me all alone. I hid in the house and stayed quiet so zombies wouldn't find me. I had a lot food enough to last two years the other three I would go out and get food I could find in the two gas stations and stores close to my old house. I had to ration alot and not eat for 1 or 2 days at a time but I made it so far.)

    The streets were empty, grass grew up trough the cracks in the streets and sidewalks.  News papers and mail heavily littered the street. Shadow and I made it to the gun store uninterrupted about we 20 minutes later. It was a small store about the size of half a Family Dollar. On top of the store was a sign that read The #1 Gun. I hoped the door was unlocked as we approached it, thankfully it was. We went in. In the store was a counter near the front. On the walls were gun racks that held many guns and on the floor were rows of glass cases that also held guns. I was checking out the guns when I heard something moving in the back room.

     I opened the door to a room I guessed was the lunch room. There was a TV, fridge, couch and a table with chairs. There was a zombie beating on the door of a closet at the far end of the room I told Shadow "sick em" and he ran to the zombie and bit his leg making the zombie fall to his knees. I ran up behind it and chopped off his head and it rolled halfway across the floor.

    I listened to the door so I could hear what was on the other side. I heared crying so I quickly opened the door inside was a beautiful girl around my age. She looked up fast, her blueish green eyes filled with fright that the person opening the door was the zombie. "Its ok I'm here to save you" I said trying to make it look like I knew she was here. "How did u come here to save me if I've never met you an you have never met me." She said clearly able to tell was lying. "Looks like I'm not fooling you" I said. "what's your name" I said. "Kylee" she answered. "What's yours" She said "Carson" I replied "How old are you" I said "22 and you" she said "24" I replied.

      A few minutes later I asked her how she got in the closet. So she told me. The gun store doesn't leave ammunition in the guns incase someone try's to robe the store with one. There's a gun underneath the counter but I forgot to load it on the day I was locked in there. The ammunition is in that closet so I went to grab some but the zombie ran after me so I closed the door behind me and was stuck in there for about five days now."

       After I told her my plan I asked her if she would like to come with me. She said she liked the plan and would love to come with me. I own   the store it was my dads but he passed. So we can take anything we need I also have a working van out back. So we grabbed 50cal. sniper rifles, M16s, silencers, mini Uzis, a couple swords and all the ammo they had stocked and loaded it into the van. The van was a black old timey hippy Voltz Wagon. (Here's a tip melee and silenced weapons are best for killing zombies because zombies are attracted to noise so stay as quiet as possible.)

   We got in to the van, in the van was blue shag carpeting floor to ceiling, a mini fridge and a laptop, in the back corner of the van there was a box that was rectangular and almost touched the roof in the other corner there was an air mattress and next to it sleeping in a purple pet basket was a small black and tan German Shepard. "What's her name" I asked "Kena" she replied "well this is my dog Shadow" I said. Shadow looked at Kena, barked and wagged his tail in excitement of his new friend. I started the van then both said "where to now?"
