Chapter 6: Building supplies

    Kylee and I decided that if we were gonna kill some zombies we need to have a safe place to come back to. We decided that a house halfway between the Walmart and the gun store would be best. So we looked at some houses and finally decided on a small two story house. It had a tall fenced in yard good for keeping zombies out and the house itself was made of brick so if a zombie did get in the yard they couldn't brake through the walls.

     Next we decided to go to the Home Depo. on Mobile Hwy for barricading supplies. "We have to do a different plan this time. We will sneak past the zombies in the parking lot, go around the building and look for a window, once inside the building we get wood, hammers and nails. Then we run out the front door, run to the van, hop in and get the hell out of there.

    So here we are sneaking past the zombies so far so good. We made it past the parking lot only having to silently kill three or four zombies that were in our way then we found our way around the left side of the building. We found a small window about 3  by 4 feet so I lifted Kylee up through the window and she helped pull me up. Once inside we found ourselves in a bathroom the smells of shit, piss and death filled the air. It smelt horrible and I almost vomited. We made our way inside the store we saw a couple zombies here and there but no biggy. We finally made it to the wood department and grabbed all the boards we could carry. On top of the boards we both stacked three boxes of nails and shoved a hammer inside one of the boxes.

   "Ok but I also want some spray paint for the van" I said. So we went to the paint isle and I grabbed two cans of red paint and Kylee grabbed two buckets of white blue and black paint. I looked at her "what it's for the house she said." "I also have a huge roll of blue and black shag carpeting in my van." "Ok lets get going" I said.

      So we started walking and a few seconds later I tripped, and all my stuff went crashing to the floor making a vary loud noise in the somewhat empty store. Seconds later we started to hear moans an screeches as zombies piled down both ends of the isle we were on, we were trapped. We quickly grabbed the M16s from our backs and started shooting. One bullet after another pierced zombies skulls leaving them dead on the ground. But more just kept on coming. We both ran out of ammo. heres a tip (if your stuck in a hallway type structure shoot all the zombies at one end of the hallway this will almost always ensure an exit, well if you brought enough ammo unfortunately we didn't.) "Ok" I said "new plan we need to knock over one of these shelves. We quickly threw all of our strength into pushing over one of the huge shelves it fell to its side crashing into the next knocking the rest with it. We quickly grabbed our supplies ran over the now sideways shelves and out the door. Zombies were close on our backs, but we made it to the van. Kylee quickly started the car and drove away as I grabbed a magazine and shoved it in my M16 and shot any zombies stupid enough to still follow us. We were now heading home.
