Present Day;
Rebecca's POV;
It had been a week or so since I had spoken to Colby(Seth) and boy was that conversation awkward. I was clearly in a world of my own, not realising someone had came running towards me in the practice ring and slamming me down and grabbing my arm into an arm bar, I yelled out in pain. Obviously it didn't hurt, I was just shocked he would do something like this knowing I was in fairy land in my head."You need to be more focused on your trainin' you do realise what would happen in the ring." He sighed, letting go of my arm before standing up. I looked up, his arm out extended for me to take before pulling me up. I smiled and closelined him quickly, he hit the mat with a thud.
"Jesus."
"Not so judgy now are ya? Getting knocked on your ass as quickly as I did." I flashed a quick smirk before stepping out the ring to go work out some more. I heard a sigh behind me,
"Work on those biceps." The man who was once behind me was now stood in front of me, watching me closely as I picked up the dumbbell. He nodded and grabbed one of his own, working on his own biceps. "So, do you feel like talking about the past week? You've been in fairy land ever since RAW."
I groaned and looked at him, not missing a beat to the music as I worked out. "Not really, now isn't the time to be hooked on my personal life, Fergal."
Fergal grinned, "Okay, okay. Touche." He burst out in a fit of laughter, and I couldn't help but laugh along with him. He's been a good friend of mine, and actually was one of the people to train me back in 2002. It's been great having him around, on the road and actually in my life as he's the one guy I can talk to about anything as he'll listen and offer advice. "But I get it, talking about Colby will really throw you off of your workout and that isn't what we need right now." He nodded.
After an hour and a half of working out Fergal was laying on the floor, breathing heavily. I chuckled and grabbed both of our waters, sitting down next to him. "Here. Hydrate." He slowly propped himself on his left elbow, holding himself up to take a gulp of water. I took a deep breath, releasing it slowly. "He finally came to terms that it wasn't my fault." My eyes were fixated on the gym logo on the wall, Fergal glanced up, shifting his weight so he was now crossed legged on the floor.
"It wasn't your fault anyway, lass." He shook his head, opening his mouth to continue. "The amount of stress you were under, you were both going far in your careers. Surely he should understand that."
My eyes diverted to Fergal, searching them for answers on where he was going with this. "I put the blame on myself for so long, I hardly knew what it felt like to let myself rest and come to terms with the whole thing." I placed my hands in my lap, fiddling with the bracelets on my wrist. "But now, I've come to terms with it. I understand it wasn't my fault nor was it his, I knew why he was so mad when it happened, and I forgive him."
"It's easier to forgive, than it is to forget and thats something you need to choose to do. Of course your not going to forget anything that has happened and no one expects you to, but be careful." Fergal smiled at me, grabbing my hand. "You've been my friend for far to long for me to just sit back and watch you get hurt." He placed a kiss on my knuckles. "What ever you decide to do, we'll all be here for you."
A smile creeped on my face, I felt a lot lighter as if a weight had been taken off of my shoulders. "Thank you, Fergal. It means a lot to know you are here for me as well as everyone else." I leaned over giving him a quick hug. He grinned and pulled me in for one of his monster hugs, he squeezed me and laughed letting go a few moments later.
"Aye, that's what best friends are for. Speaking of best friends, how are things with Ashley(Charlotte)?" Fergal had now gotten a few feet away from me, "Don't kill me please."
"You can come back over here, I'm not going to hit you, scaredy cat." I grinned, and he moved closer. "It's okay, we managed to sort out our differences, finally." I sighed softly, "It's also been hard for us both, not having each other around for so long."
"So, your both friends right?" Fergal tilted his head
"Yes, were back to being friends. Clean slate." I nodded and grabbed my water for another drink before speaking again, "I think I needed to just forgive and forget, the past is the past. It's not going to help if I hold grudges against anyone who does me wrong." I shrugged softly,
"Well this is a good start. I'm proud of you." And like she knew we were talking about her, Ashley had walked in.
"Get a room will you." She scoffed, walking over to us she sat down making a triangle of people. "I'm kidding, but what's up."
"Just talking about you." I smiled, looking over at her. "And Colby." Fergal chimed in.
"Oohhh." Ashley shimmied her shoulders, "And what about us?"
After an hour of talking and laughing at each other, my phone chimed.
Colby; Would you like to grab coffee?
I lifted my head, raising a brow. "So the other devil just messaged me."
"Damn do you guys have secret microphones around or something?" Fergal laughed nervously, looking at Ashley.
"No Fergal. That would be an invasion of privacy, also it sounds like a great idea. Can we do it?" She grinned and wiggles her brows.
"Back to the devil, what did he say?" Fergal and Ashley we're now looking at me with quizzed expressions on their faces, clearly not trying to hide the fact that they wanted gossip.
"He asked if I wanted to go get coffee with him." I smiled at my phone, "I really think I want to give this another go, but also take my time with it."
"Then do it, you're in charge of your own happiness." Ashley took one of my hands and smiled sweetly at me. Fergal nodded, "You have to tell us the juicy details after though."
Ashley agreed with Fergals statement. "No details will be left behind. Tell us everything. And please, shower before." I chuckled.
"Well obviously."
Rebecca: Meet in an hour?
Colby; I'll see you there.After about half an hour of getting ready, I looked at myself in the hotel mirror. Black dress, doc martens and finally I finished applying the last touches of my makeup and I was ready to go.
